Abstract

Masalah matematis tidak rutin adalah masalah yang dalam penyelesaiannya terdapat lebih dari satu langkah dan masalahnya harus dibaca dengan seksama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan jenis kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematis tidak rutin pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) ditinjau dari teori praxeology. Praxeology terdiri dari empat komponen yakni type of task, technique, technology, dan theory. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan di Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 4 orang siswa yang memperoleh hasil penskoran tertinggi pada setiap butir soal yang diberikan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, sampai penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis soal yang diberikan merupakan masalah yang tidak rutin. Para siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam mengubah informasi dari soal yang berbentuk cerita ke dalam model matematis, dan banyak melakukan kekeliruan saat menerapkan operasi aljabar, yaitu proses eliminasi dan substitusi. Pada prosesnya masih banyak siswa yang menggunakan cara atau langkah yang keliru, tidak sesuai dengan yang diajarkan oleh guru sebelumnya, sebagai akibat kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap penjelasan guru dalam materi SPLDV. Di samping itu, siswa kesulitan mengingat materi yang sudah diajarkan, karena mereka tidak mengulang kembali materi pelajaran, khususnya SPLDV. Siswa tidak mampu memahami penjelasan guru, akibat kurangnya minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika yang dilaksanakan melalui sistem pembelajaran jarak jauh. Hal terakhir yang menjadi kesulitan siswa adalah menafsirkan hasil perhitungan dari proses matematis yang sudah dikerjakannya, meskipun langkah-langkah yang dilakukannya sudah benar. The Process and Difficulty of Students in Solving Non-routine Mathematical Problems on the SLETV Material in terms of Praxeology Theory Non-routine mathematical problems are problems in which there are more than one step in the solution and the problems must be read carefully. This study aims to describe the process and types of students’ difficulties in solving non-routine mathematical problems on the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SLETV) in terms of praxeology theory. Praxeology consists of four components: type of task, technique, technology, and theory. This research is a qualitative research conducted in Junior High School. The research subjects consisted of 4 students who obtained the highest score on each item given. Data analysis techniques used include data collection, data reduction, to drawing conclusions. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the types of questions given are non-routine problems. The students have difficulty in converting information from story questions into mathematical models, and make many mistakes when applying algebraic operations, namely the process of elimination and substitution. In the process, there are still many students who use the wrong method or steps, which are not in accordance with what was taught by the previous teacher, as a result of the students' lack of understanding of the teacher's explanation in the SLETV material. In addition, students have difficulty remembering the material that has been taught, because they do not repeat the subject matter, especially SLETV. Students are unable to understand the teacher's explanation, due to the lack of student interest in learning mathematics which is carried out through the distance learning system. The last thing that is difficult for students is to interpret the results of the calculations from the mathematical processes they have done, even though the steps they have taken are correct.
