Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi siswa kelas VII SMP dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan perbandingan dan memahami level kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa kelas VII SMP dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan perbandingan. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri, didukung oleh instrumen tes dan wawancara. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, penelitian dilakukan dengan mengujikan soal tes kemampuan penalaran proporsional pada materi perbandingan kepada siswa. Hasil tes dan wawancara tersebut kemudian dikelompokkan ke dalam level penalaran proporsional. Data hasil tes dan wawancara dianalisis menggunakan langkah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 6 siswa kelas VII dari salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa kelas VII SMP memiliki kemampuan penalaran proporsional yang berbeda dalam menyelesaikan masalah perbandingan. Kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa dalam menyelesaikan tipe soal Part-part Whole sebanyak 83% siswa berada pada level 2 (penalaran kuantitatif) dan 17% siswa berada pada level 0 (penalaran non proporsional). Kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa dalam menyelesaikan tipe soal Associated Sets sebanyak 83% siswa berada pada level 1 (penalaran informal tentang situasi perbandingan) dan 17% siswa berada pada level 0 (penalaran non proporsional). Kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa dalam menyelesaikan tipe soal Well Known Measure sebanyak 33% berada pada level 2 (penalaran kuantitatif) dan 67% berada pada level 0 (penalaran non proporsional). Kemampuan penalaran proporsional siswa dalam menyelesaikan tipe soal Growth sebanyak 67% berada pada level 3 (penalaran proporsional formal) dan 33% berada pada level 0 (penalaran non proporsional). This study aims to describe the strategies of seventh grade junior high school students in solving comparison problems and understanding the proportional ability level of seventh grade junior high school students in solving comparative problems. The instrument in this study was the researcher himself, supported by test and interview instruments. The research method used is qualitative, the research was conducted by testing proportional reasoning ability test questions about comparative to students. The results of the tests and interviews are then classified into the level of proportional reasoning. The test and analysis results data were analyzed using data reduction steps, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The subjects of this study were 6 students of seventh grade from one of the junior high schools in Tasikmalaya Regency. The results of this study showed that the proportional reasoning of seventh grade junior high school students had different proportional reasoning abilities in solving comparative problems. The proportional reasoning ability of students in solving the Part-part Whole type as much as 83% of students are at level 2 (quantitative reasoning) and 17% of students are at level 0 (non-proportional reasoning). The proportional reasoning ability of students in completing the Associated Sets type as many as 83% of students are at level 1 (informal reasoning about comparative situations) and 17% of students are at level 0 (non-proportional reasoning). The students' proportional reasoning ability in solving Well Known Measure type as much as 33% are at level 2 (quantitative reasoning) and 67% are at level 0 (non-proportional reasoning). The students' proportional reasoning ability in solving types of Growth as many as 67% is at level 3 (formal proportional reasoning) and 33% is at level 0 (non-proportional reasoning).
