Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mengidentifikasi efek moderasi motivasi belajar pada pengaruh metode problem based learning dan discovery learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siswa kelas XI IPS di SMA KHZ Musthafa Sukamanah Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu desain eksperimen yang berbentuk desain faktorial 2x3 dengan menggunakan Two Ways ANOVA. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen 1 yang menggunakan metode problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada kelas eksperimen 2 yang menggunakan metode discovery learning. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen 1 yang menggunakan metode problem based learning dan kelas eksperimen 2 yang menggunakan metode discovery learning; 2) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan metode problem based learning dan metode discovery learning pada tingkat motivasi belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah; 3) Terdapat interaksi antara metode problem based learning dan metode discovery learning dengan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. This study aims to examine and identify the effect of moderation of learning motivation on the influence of the method of problem based learning and discovery learning versus critical thinking skills in students of class XI IPS in SMA KHZ Musthafa Sukamanah Tasikmalaya Regency. The research method used is the experimental design that shaped factorial design 2x3 by using Two Ways ANOVA. The increase in students ' critical thinking skills grade experiment 1 using the method of problem based learning is higher than the experimental class 2 using the method of discovery learning. The results of this study indicate that 1) There are differences in students 'critical thinking skills between the experimental class 1 using the method of problem based learning and the experimental class 2 using the method of discovery learning; 2) There are differences in students' critical thinking skills using problem based learning method and the method of discovery learning on the level of learning motivation high, medium, and low; 3) There is an interaction between problem based learning method and the method of discovery learning with the learning motivation toward students' critical thinking skills.
