    Abstract

    Computational thinking sebagai salah satu keterampilan abad ke-21 mulai banyak diintegrasikan ke dalam kurikulum pendidikan wajib di berbagai negara. Di Indonesia, computational thinking baru diajarkan melalui mata pelajaran Informatika, dan belum diintegrasikan kedalam mata pelajaran lainnya. Pembelajaran daring food web menggunakan model komputasi di platform pemrograman Snap! merupakan salah satu strategi pembelajaran yang diharapkan dapat membantu meningkatkan computational thinking siswa. Bagi siswa, strategi pembelajaran ini merupakan suatu hal yang baru dan dapat menimbulkan beban kognitif extraneous (ECL). Dalam menggambarkan ECL, diperlukan pengukuran terhadap usaha mental siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi usaha mental siswa dalam pembelajaran daring food web menggunakan model komputasi dan hubungannya dengan computational thinking. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian terdiri dari 30 orang siswa kelas VII di SMPN 2 Bandung. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuisioner usaha mental siswa, catatan lapangan, dan tes computational thinking siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, usaha mental siswa mengalami kenaikan pada setiap pertemuan, kecuali pada pertemuan kedua. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pre-test dengan hasil post-test computational thinking siswa. Sementara itu, hasil uji korelasi Pearson menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara usaha mental siswa dengan nilai N-gain computational thinking siswa. Computational thinking as one of the 21st century skills has begun to integrate into compulsory education curriculum in various countries. In Indonesia, computational thinking has been taught only through informatics subjects and has not been integrated into other subjects. Online learning computational model of food web on Snap! is one of the learning strategies expected to help improve students’ computational thinking. For students, this learning strategy is something new and may cause an Extraneous Cognitive Load (ECL). In describing ECL, it is necessary to measure students’ mental effort. The objective of this research is to identify students’ mental effort in online learning computational model of food web and its relationship with computational thinking skills. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The sample in this research consists of 30 seventh grade students from Public Junior High School (SMPN) 2 Bandung. The research instruments used in this research are students’ mental effort questionnaires, field notes, and students’ computational thinking tests. Based on the research results, students’ mental effort increased at each meeting, except for the second meeting. The results of the Wilcoxon test show that there was a significant difference between the results of the computational thinking pre-test and the computational thinking post-test. In addition, the results of the Pearson correlation test show that there was no relationship between students' mental effort and students' computational thinking N-gain scores.
