Abstract

Konsumsi berita telah menjadi aspek sentral dalam kehidupan masyarakat modern dan kekerasan seksual menjadi salah satu masalah yang kini begitu disoroti oleh media pemberitaan Indonesia. Efeknya pun kini telah sampai pada media sosial Twitter di mana akun @komnasperempuan secara aktif mempopulerkan gerakan #SahkanRUUPKS sebagai bentuk dukungan sosial secara daring. Participatory Media Culture dijadikan teori dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada budaya masyarakat yang mulai percaya bahwa kontribusi mereka begitu penting sehingga dapat merasakan adanya keterkaitan hubungan sosial satu sama lain. Konsep budaya partisipatif ini akhirnya banyak digunakan untuk menggambarkan bentuk-bentuk partisipasi sosial maupun politik yang terjadi dalam media, salah satunya dalam aksi #SahkanRUUPKS di Twitter yang akan dikaji dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis seberapa besar pengaruh konsumsi berita kekerasan seksual terhadap tingkat online social support, menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Data diperoleh melalui survei dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 381 pengikut Twiiter @komnasperempuan yang mendukung aksi #SahkanRUUPKS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga sub-variabel yang memiliki pengaruh signifikan dan bernilai positif, yaitu: motivasi mendapatkan berita (nilai t = 7,871 > 1,905), kepercayaan terhadap berita (nilai t = 2,658 > 1,905) dan pemilihan kanal berita (nilai t = 2,869 > 1,905). Sedangkan penghindaran dalam memilih berita bernilai negatif dan tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap tingkat online social support. Kata kunci: Konsumsi Berita Kekerasan Seksual, Online Social Support, Budaya Partisipatif, Twitter, #SahkanRUUPKS The news consumption has become the central aspect of life in modern society and sexual violence is one of the problems currently highlighted by the Indonesian news media. The effect also has reached the social media of Twitter, where the @komnasperempuan account has actively popularized the #SahkanRUUPKS movement as online social support. Participatory Media Culture became the theory in this study referred to the community culture, which began to believe that their contribution is very important so that they can feel the social relationship among others. The concept of participatory culture was finally widely used to describe the forms of social or political participation in media, one of which was #SahkanRUUPKS actions on Twitter, which would be examined in this study. This study aims to examine and analyze how much influence the news consumption of sexual violence on the level of online social support using the quantitative approach with correlational method. The data was obtained through the survey by distributing questionnaires to 381 followers of the @komnasperempuan Twitter account who support the #SahkanRUUPKS actions. The results of the study show that there are three sub-variables that have significant influence with positive value: motivation to get news (t-value = 7,871 > 1.966), trust in the news (t-value = 2,658 > 1.966), the selection of news channel (t-value = 2,869 > 1.966). Meanwhile news avoidance has a negative value and does not influence the level of online social support.
