Abstract

Membaca merupakan kemampuan yang penting dimiliki siswa sekolah dasar karena membaca masuk ke dalam salah satu ruang lingkup standar kompetensi mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yaitu mendengar, berbicara, membaca dan menulis. Kesulitan membaca akan mengganggu aktivitas belajar siswa untuk menangkap informasi tertulis dalam sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan membaca permulaan di kelas rendah yang dialami siswa kelas II di SDN Ciawi 1 Kabupaten Bogor. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai dalam menunjang sumber bukti penelitian yaitu berupa observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa dari 21 siswa di kelas II, 8 siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca permulaan dengan kesulitan yang beragam, diantaranya : siswa kesulitan mengidentifikasi huruf, siswa kesulitan membaca gabungan huruf vokal, siswa kesulitan membaca gabungan huruf konsonan, siswa kesulitan membaca suku kata, dan siswa kesulitan mengenali tanda baca. Sedangkan faktor penyebab kesulitan membaca permulaan yang dialami siswa kelas II SDN Ciawi 1 Kabupaten Bogor adalah rendahnya motivasi membaca, tidak maksimalnya orangtua dalam mendampingi siswa, dan kurangnya rasa percaya diri siswa. Reading is an important ability for elementary school students because reading is included in the scope of competency standards for Indonesian subjects, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. Reading difficulties will interfere with student learning activities to capture written information in learning resources. This study aims to analyze the difficulty of reading beginning in the low grade experienced by grade II students at SDN Ciawi 1, Bogor Regency. The approach used is qualitative and uses a case study method. Data collection techniques used to support research evidence sources are in the form of observation, tests, and interview.The findings showed that out of 21 students in class II, 8 students had difficulty reading beginning with various difficulties, including: students had difficulty identifying letters, students had difficulty reading combinations of vowels, students had difficulty reading consonant combinations, students had difficulty reading syllables, and students have difficulty recognizing punctuation marks. Meanwhile, the factors causing the difficulty reading beginning experienced by the second grade students of SDN Ciawi 1 Bogor Regency are the low motivation to read, the parents are not maximal in accompanying the students, and the students' lack of self-confidence.
