Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan suatu model pembelajaran yaitu model Problem Based Learning terhadap pengembangan kompetensi kewarganegaraan yaitu civic skills dalam konsep intellectual skills dan participatory skills. Dengan tujuan penerapan model problem based learning dapat digunakan menjadi salah satu model pembelajaran yang efektif dan berpengaruh positif terhadap civic skills siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasy experiment) dengan desain non equivalen groups pretest-posttest. Dalam desaian ini terdapat kelompok eksperimen 9-C dan kelompok kontrol kelas 9-D dengan populasi SMP Negeri 3 Darangdan Kabupaten Purwakarta. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest, posttest dan angket, dengan teknik analisis data menggunakan independent sampel t test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap civic skills siswa dalam PKn. Secara khusus maka hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa kondisi civic skills siswa dalam PKn sebelum penerapan problem based learning masih kurang. Kemudian terdapat perbedaan yang menunjukkan positif signifikan civic skills baik dalam konsep intellectual skills dan juga participatory skills antara kelas kontrol atau kelas yang menggunakan metode konvensional dengan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model problem based learning. Hal ini terlihat dengan nilai mean setiap variabel yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada nilai mean yang diperoleh kelas kontrol Direkomendasikan bahwa model problem based learning perlu ditingkatkan oleh guru dalam upaya mengembangkan kecakapan kewaraganegaraan siswa. Kata kunci: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Civic Skills, Intellectual Skills, Participatory Skills Pelajaran PKn. This study was conducted to determine the effect of applying a learning model of Problem Based Learning is a model for the development of civic skills that civic competence in the concept of intellectual skills and participatory skills. With the purpose of applying the model of problem-based learning can be used to be one model of effective learning and positive effect on students' civic skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods (Quasi experiment) design with non-equivalent groups pretest-posttest. In this design contained 9-C experimental group and a control group class 9-D with population of SMP Negeri 3 Darangdan Purwakarta. The data was collected pretest, posttest and questionnaire, with data analysis technique using independent samples t test. Results of this study show that the application of problem based learning models affect the civic skills of students in civics. In particular, the results indicate that the condition of the civic skills of students in civics before the implementation of problem-based learning is still lacking. Then there is a significant positive difference indicates good civic skills in the concept of intellectual skills and also participatory skills between classes or grade control using conventional methods with experimental class that uses problem based learning models. It can be seen with a mean of each variable obtained experimental class higher than the mean value obtained control class Recommended that the model of problem based learning need to be improved by the teacher in developing students' civic skills.
