Abstract

Penelitian yang telah dilakukan berjudul “Pembelajaran Problem Solving Tipe Mothes pada Siswa SMA dalam Konteks Penghilangan Noda pada Kain”. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh informasi mengenai performa guru dan siswa selama pembelajaran problem solving tipe Mothes pada konteks penghilangan noda pada kain serta kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 34 siswa kelas XII di salah satu SMA Negeri kota Bandung. Instrumen penelitian berupa format penilaian performa guru dan siswa serta butir soal tentang keterampilan pemecahan masalah yang mengikuti tahapan problem solving tipe Mothes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa performa guru dalam pembelajaran problem solving tipe Mothes dikategorikan sangat baik, sedangkan performa siswa dikategorikan baik. Pencapaian kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah pada tahap motivasi dan penjabaran masalah dikategorikan sangat baik, tahap penyusunan opini serta perencanaan dan konstruksi dikategorikan baik, tahap melakukan percobaan dan membuat kesimpulan dikategorikan cukup, tahap membuat abstraksi dikategorikan kurang dan tahap konsolidasi dikategorikan baik. Sikap siswa selama pembelajaran dikategorikan sangat baik sedangkan kinerjanya dikategorikan baik. Kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah berdasarkan hasil pretes dan postes diperoleh N-gain sebesar 0,4 dengan kategori sedang. Kata Kunci: Problem Solving, Tipe Mothes, Noda Kain This conducted research entitled “Mothes Type’s Problem Solving Learning on High School Students in Stains fabric remover context”. This research was based on the problems of the low skill of students to solve problems. The purpose of this research was to obtain information on the performance of teachers and students during the learning Mothes type’s problem solving in the context stain removal on fabric and then the ability of students to solve problems. This research is evaluative. The subjects in this research were 34 students of XII grade at one of Senior High School in Bandung. The research instrument were the performance appraisal teacher and students form and also the test item about problem solving skills that followed Mothes type problem solving. The results showed that the performance of the teacher in teaching Mothes type’s problem solving is very well categorized, while the performance of students are well categorized. Achievement of students' ability to solve problems at the stage of elaboration of the problem of motivation and categorized very well , and opinion drafting stages of planning and construction of well categorized , stage conduct experiments and make inferences reasonably categorized, stage make abstraction categorized less well categorized and consolidation phase. The attitude of the students during the learning performance is considered very well, while the performance is well categorized. Students skills in problem solving based on pretest and posttest results obtained 0.4 of N-gain value with the medium category. Keywords: Problem Solving, Mothes Type’s, Fabric Stain
