    Abstract

mempengaruhi makna streaming, khususnya makna hiburan, kesenangan,
    sosial, kebebasan, dan kebersamaan.
As a form of entertainment, video games experience major transformation,
from a direct gameplay spectacle or face-to-face to become a digital
mediated gameplay, which can be watched on-screen. Gamers show
themselves as a visual-digital representation on-screen. This condition is
called hyperreality and social hyperreality. Symbolic interaction is also
performed digitally. This research studies symbolic interaction and social
relation between streamers and viewers in the context of hyperreality. This
research focuses on meaning and social context included in streaming
broadcasts. Qualitative approach and discourse analysis method are
employed to analyze text, audio and pictures from streaming broadcasts.
The researcher discovered that social relation inside game-streaming
relates to streamers’ modality, especially verbal, gesture, and visual
modality. Modality could either increase or decrease depending on how
streamers use it. On the other hand, there are other socio-cultural
influences, such as genders, ethnics, popularity/commercialism, and
appearance dimensions, which also influence streaming meaning, such as
entertainment, enjoyment, social, freedom, and fellowship meaning.
