Abstract
Mahasiswa sebagai individu dewasa awal akan memasuki masa transisi dari remaja menuju dewasa. Bermacam reaksi Individu dalam menyambut masa dewasa. Individu dapat merasa senang dan antusias, tetapi ada juga yang merasa cemas dan takut karena merasa tidak memiliki bekal atau persiapan yang cukup. Reaksi yang ditimbulkan mengakibatkan mahasiswa terjebak dalam quarter-life crisis. Problem focused coping dapat menjadi salah satu strategi penyelesaian masalah yang dihadapi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Kontribusi Problem Focused Coping terhadap Quarter-Life Crisis serta Implikasinya bagi Bimbingan dan Konseling. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional dengan subjek 169 mahasiswa. Instrumen quarter-life crisis disusun oleh peneliti berdasarkan aspek-aspek quarter-life crisis yang dikemukakan oleh Nash dan Muray (2010) dan Instrumen strategi problem focused coping menggunakan konsep dari Aldwin dan Revenson (1987). Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran instrumen berupa kuesioner yang diolah menggunakan uji Pearson Correlation dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 dan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,551 dengan tanda minus (arah negatif). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan; (1) gambaran quarter-life crisis mahasiswa berada pada kategori krisis; (2) gambaran problem focused coping mahasiswa berada pada kategori positif; (3) terdapat kontribusi cukup tinggi yang negatif dan signifikan antara problem focused coping dengan quarter-life crisis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, mahasiswa masih perlu meningkatkan kemampuan problem focused coping untuk dapat mereduksi quarter-life crisis maka diperlukan program layanan bimbingan. Implikasinya penelitian berupa program bimbingan dan konseling. Students as early adult individuals will come into a period of transition from adolescence to adulthood. Various reactions of individuals in welcoming adulthood. Individuals can feel happy and enthusiastic, but some feel anxious and afraid because they feel they do not have enough supplies or preparation. The reaction resulted in students being caught up in a quarter-life crisis. Problem focused coping can be one of the problem solving strategies faced by students. This study aims to find out the Contribution of Problem Focused Coping to Quarter-Life Crisis and its Implications for Guidance and Counseling. Researchers used a quantitative approach with a correlational method with the subjects of 169 students. The quarter-life crisis instrument was compiled by researchers based on aspects of the quarter-life crisis put forward by Nash and Muray (2010) and problem focused coping strategy instruments using concepts from Aldwin and Revenson (1987). The data was obtained through the distribution of instruments in the form of questionnaires processed using pearson correlation test with significance value of 0.000 and correlation coefficient of 0.551 with minus sign (negative direction). The results showed; (1) the description of the student quarter-life crisis is in the crisis category; (2) the problem focused coping picture of students is in the positive category; (3) there is a fairly high negative and significant contribution between problem focused coping and quarter-life crisis. Based on the results of the research, students still need to improve the ability of problem focused coping to be able to reduce the quarter-life crisis, so a guidance service program is needed. The implications of research in the form of guidance and counseling programs.
