Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui deskripsi preferensi masyarakat dalam berbelanja kebutuhan pokok di pasar tradisional dan di pasar modern Kota Cimahi, dan 2) mengetahui preferensi masyarakat Kota Cimahi dalam berbelanja kebutuhan pokok, apakah di pasar tradisional ataukah di pasar modern. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan survei. Pengolahan data menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan menggunakan statistika nonparametrik. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah preferensi masyarakat dan subjek penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Kota Cimahi. Sampel yang diteliti sebanyak 400 responden dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan simple random sampling dan proportionate stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa indikator-indikator yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini; yaitu pendapatan, harga, pendidikan, dan jenis kelamin telah memenuhi asumsi-asumsi pada teori preferensi nyata; yaitu consistence, completeness, transitivity, dan more is better. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan, bahwa preferensi konsumen berbelanja kebutuhan pokok masyarakat Kota Cimahi adalah di pasar tradisional. Kata Kunci: Preferensi, Kebutuhan Pokok, Pasar Tradisional, Pasar Modern The objective of this research are 1) to know about description of consumers preference for shopping basic needs in traditional market and modern market in Cimahi City, 2) to know about description of consumers in Cimahi City for shopping basic needs, in traditional market or in modern market. The approach taken in this research is quantitative research. Type of this research is descriptive research with a survey. Processing data use descriptive statistics and use nonparametric statistic. The object is consumers preference and the subject is Cimahi society. Samples were examined approximately 400 respondents and use simple random sampling and proportionate stratified random sampling. The results of this research showed that the indicators; income, price, education, and type of sex were qualified these assumptions on revealed preference theory; consistence, completeness, transitivity, and more is better. Based on the descriptive analysis, known that consumers preference in Cimahi City for shopping basic needs is in the Traditional Market. Keywords: Preference, Basic Needs, Traditional Market
