Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pentingnya pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPS terutama tentang materi perkembangan teknologi transportasi yang belum dilaksanakan secara maksimal, guru jarang memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menemukan sendiri materi pelajaran yang sedang dipelajarinya. Sejatinya, setiap siswa harus mempunyai peluang untuk mengembangkan pengetahuanya dengan bantuan dan bimbingan guru. Hal tersebut menjadi salah satu faktor rendahnya pengetahuan siswa terhadap konsep-konsep IPS. Solusi yang di pandang memungkinkan adalah penggunaan metode Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam proses pembelajaran. Penggunaan metode Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam proses pembelajaran IPS khususnya pokok bahasan tentang perkembangan teknologi transportasi dapat melibatkan siswa untuk dapat berperan aktif dalam melakukan pengamatan dengan bimbingan guru, sehingga peningkatan kemampuan mengetahui dan memahami siswa terhadap sebuah konsep dapat terarah lebih baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam membuat perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, meningkatkan aktivitas siswa, dan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPS tentang perkembangan teknologi transportasi melalui metode TGT di kelas IV SDN Cintalaksana Kecamatan Karangnunggal Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan mengacu kepada Model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggar. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi ternyata penelitian ini telah berhasil. Ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan hasil penilaian perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang semakin meningkat dari siklus I sampai siklus II. Perencanaan pembelajaran siklus I 72,2%, siklus II 80,5%. Sementara itu, pelaksanaan pembelajaran pun meningkat, siklus I 70,6%, dan siklus II 78,12%. Aktivitas belajar siswa melalui metode Team Games Tournament juga meningkat. Siklus I rata-rata 61,3%, siklus II, 91,01%. Hasil belajar siswa pada materi perkembangan teknologi transportasi melalui metode Team Games Tournament diperoleh siswa pada siklus I rata-rata 69,37 % dan siklus II 81,87%. Dari penelitian ini telah memberikan simpulan bahwa penggunaan metode Teams Games Tournament pada pembelajaran IPS dapat memberikan peningkatan terhadap hasil belajar siswa jika direncanakan dan dilaksanakan dengan baik. Indeed, every student should have the opportunity to develop pengetahuanya with the help and guidance of teachers. It became one of the factors a lack of knowledge of students to the concepts of IPS. That in view of possible solutions is the use of methods Teams Games Tournament (TGT) in the learning process. The use of methods Teams Games Tournament (TGT) in the process of learning social studies in particular the subject of the development of transport technology can engage students to be able to play an active role in making observations with the guidance of teachers, thus increasing the ability of students to learn and understand a concept can be better directed. The purpose of this research is to improve the ability of teachers to create lesson plans, implementation of learning, increase student activity, and to improve student learning outcomes in social studies learning about the development of transportation technology through TGT method in class IV SDN Cintalaksana District Karangnunggal Tasikmalaya regency. The research was conducted through Classroom Action Research (CAR), with reference to the Model Kemmis and Mc. Taggar. The research was conducted in two cycles. Based on the research that has been done on the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection turns this research has been successful. Indicated by an increase in assessment planning and implementation of lessons increasing from cycle I to cycle II. Instructional planning cycle I 72.2%, 80.5% second cycle. Meanwhile, the implementation of learning has increased, 70.6% first cycle, second cycle and 78.12%. Student learning activities through methods also increasing Games Tournament Team. I cycle an average of 61.3%, the second cycle, 91.01%. Student learning outcomes in the material development of transportation technology through methods Team Games Tournament obtained by students in the first cycle an average of 69.37% and 81.87% the second cycle. Of this study has provided the conclusion that the use of the method on learning Teams Games Tournament IPS can provide improvements to student learning outcomes if planned and executed well.
