Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tersebarnya budaya populer terutama budaya dari negara Korea Selatan atau yang dapat disebut K-pop. Penyebarannya telah meluas hingga ke negara Indonesia, khususnya di Kota Bandung. Banyak para remaja menjadi sasaran penyebarannya, terlebih mereka yang mengenal boyband BTS. Dalam proses menggemarinya para remaja terlena dan menimbulkan suatu sindrom celebrity worship yang diikuti oleh beberapa tindakan sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memberikan gambaran mengenai sindrom celebrity worship remaja penggemar boyband BTS Kota Bandung ditinjau dari perspektif tindakan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian dipillih melalui teknik purposive sampling dengan 11 infoman yang terdiri dari remaja penggemar boyband BTS, pengurus komunitas, dan ahli psikologi. Teknik penumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi dengan hasil penelitian melalui proses teknik analisis triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Remaja penggemar boyband BTS Kota Bandung sudah mengalami tahap tiga gejala sindrom celebrity worship yaitu Borderline Patological Tendency (Patologis). (2) Munculnya tindakan sosial yang sangat beragam seperti tindakan sosial rasional instrumental, rasional nilai, afektif, dan tradisional. (3) Terdapat pengaruh dari sindrom celebrity worship dengan tindakan sosial yang terjadi. Kata Kunci: Budaya Populer, Celebrity Worship, Remaja, Tindakan Sosial ABSTRACT This research is backed by the spreading of popular culture especially the culture of the South Korean country or that can be called K-pop. Its spread has expanded to the country of Indonesia, especially in the city of Bandung. Many adolescent are targeted for spread, in those who know the BTS boyband. In the process of the young the adolescent are neglected and lead to a celebrity worship syndrome followed by some social action. The purpose of this research is to give an overview of celebrity worship syndrome adolescent fans boyband BTS Bandung City is reviewed from a social action perspective. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Research subjects were selected through the purposive sampling technique with 11 infoman consisting of adolescent of BTS boyband fans, community administrators, and psychology experts. The engineering of the data group uses interviews, observations, and documentation studies with research results through the process of data triangulation analysis techniques. The results of this research show that: (1) Adolescent fan of BTS in Bandung City has experienced three symptoms of celebrity worship syndrome, Borderline Patological Tendency (pathologist). (2) The emergence of social actions that are as diverse as instrumental rational social actions, rational values, affective, and traditional. (3) There is an influence of celebrity worship syndrome with social actions occurring. Keywords: Popular Culture, Celebrity Worship, Social Action, Adolescent
