Abstract
ABSTRAK Pembelajaran sejarah di sekolah dinilai belum memaksimalkan peran siswa sesuai dengan konsep pendidikan abad 21, sehingga pembelajaran dengan konsep berpikir sejarah dan menerapkan empati kesejarahan belum terwujud secara maksimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh model experiential learning terhadap kemampuan historical mindedness dan historical empathy. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kuasi eksperimen (eksperimen semu), dengan sampel penelitian yaitu SMAN I Parongpong. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan berbasis pengalaman lebih dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap peristiwa sejarah, hal itu di karenakan adanya keterlibatan siswa secara langsung dalam proses pembelajaran. Sehingga besarnya peran siswa dalam proses pembelajaran menjadikan siswa lebih mengeksplorasi pengetahuan secara mendalam. Dengan demikian berpikir kesejarahan dan empati kesejarahan dapat lebih mudah diterima oleh siswa. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari hasil uji kemampuan akhir atau posttest yang menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran sejarah dengan menggunakan model experiential learning terhadap kemampuan historical mindedness siswa. (2) Terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran sejarah dengan menggunakan model experiential learning terhadap historical empathy siswa. (3) Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara penerapan model experiential learning dan pembelajaran sejarah model konvensional terhadap kemampuan historical mindedness siswa. (4) Terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara penerapan model experiential learning dan pembelajaran sejarah model konvensional terhadap historical empathy siswa. (5) Tidak terdapat korelasi antara kemampuan historical mindedness dengan historical empathy siswa. Yang mana berdasarkan uji R Square historical mindedness hanya mampu mempengaruhi 5,8% atau 0,058 terhadap historical empathy, sedangkan sisanya historical empathy lebih banyak dipengaruhi oleh variabel-variabel lain yang tidak menjadi bagian dalam penelitian ini. Kata Kunci : Experiential Learning, Kemampuan Historical Mindedness, Historical Empathy ABSTRACT Learning history at schools is considered to have not maximized the role of students in accordance with the concept of 21st century education, so learning with the concept of historical mindedness and applying historical empathy has not been maximally realized. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the experiential learning model on the ability of historical mindedness and historical empathy. This research used a quasi-experimental research design, with the research sample of SMAN I Parongpong. Based on the results of the research, it shows that experiential-based learning can better improve students' understanding of historical events, this is because there is direct student involvement in the learning process. So that the large role of students in the learning process makes students explore more in-depth knowledge. So historical thinking and historical empathy can be more easily accepted by students. This can be seen from the results of the final or posttest ability test which shows that: (1) There is an impact of history learning using the experiential learning model on students' historical mindedness abilities. (2) There is an impact of learning history using experiential learning models on students' historical empathy. (3) There is a difference in the impact between the application of the experiential learning model and the conventional model of historical learning on students' historical mindedness abilities. (4) There is a difference in the impact between the application of the experiential learning model and the conventional model of historical learning on students' historical empathy. (5) There is no correlation between students' historical mindedness abilities and historical empathy. Which based on the R Square test, historical mindedness is only able to affect 5.8% or 0.058 of historical empathy, while the rest of historical empathy is more influenced by other variables that are not part of this research.
