Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangan salah satu kasus penyelewengan, yaitu kasus PT. Garuda Indonesia, yang berakhir dengan pemberian sanksi kepada Akuntan Publik terkait dan KAP. Sehingga, dari kasus tersebut perlu adanya pencegahan dini terhadap tindakan dysfunctional behavior. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sifat machiavellian dan pemahaman mahasiswa akan edukasi etika profesi terhadap dysfunctional behavior. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metodes statistik deskriptif pendekatan kuantitatif. Total responden pada peneltian ini sebanyak 63 Mahasiswa S1 Akuntansi angkatan 2017 UPI, dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) sifat machiavellian berpengaruh signifikan terhadap dysfunctional behavior, (2) pemahaman mahasiswa akan edukasi etika profesi berpengaruh signifikan terhadap dysfunctional behavior, dan (3) sifat machiavellian dan pemahaman mahasiswa akan edukasi etika profesi berpengaruh secara simultan terhadap dysfunctioan behavior. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, saran yang dapat dilakukan bagi mahasiswa agar lebih memahami dysfunctional behavior dan faktor penyebabnya, bagi KAP agar lebih memerhatikan pengetahuan auditornya terkait faktor yang mendorong dysfunctional behavior, dan bagi peneliti selanjutnya agar menambah variabel independen dan memperluas jangkauan kuesioner. Adapun keterbatasan dari penelitian ini adalah keterbatasan jumlah responden dan penggunaan variabel independen yang kurang menjelaskan variabel dependen. Kata Kunci: Dysfunctional Behavior, Sifat Machiavellian, Etika Profesi. This research was motivated by one case of fraud, PT. Garuda Indonesia, that ended up with penalties for the accountant public and KAP. Thus from the case, it is necessary for early prevention of the action of dysfunctional behavior. This research aims to determine the influence of Machiavellian nature and the student’s understanding of professional ethics education against dysfunctional behavior. The study was conducted with a descriptive statistical approach quantitative. Total respondents to this study as much as 63 students S1 Accounting Force 2017 UPI, using purposive sampling. The data used are primary data with data collection techniques using questionnaires. A hypothesis test is performed using multiple linear regression analyses. The results of this study show that (1) the Machiavellian effect is significantly towards dysfunctional behavior, (2) Students ' understanding of the education of the professional ethic has a significant effect on dysfunctional behavior, and (3) the Machiavellian nature and understanding of the students will be simultaneously Based on the research results, the advice that can be done for students to better understand the dysfunctional behavior and the causal factor, for the KAP to pay more attention to the audit knowledge related factors that encourage dysfunctional behavior, and for the next researcher to add independent variables and extend the scope of the questionnaire. The limitations of this study are the limitations of the number of respondents and the use of independent variables that lack the dependent variables.
