Abstract

ABSTRAK Problematika Keluarga yang Memiliki Lima Anak Tunagrahita Ditinjau dari Family Quality of Life Kehadiran anak di dalam keluarga dianggap menjadi salah satu faktor keharmonisan keluarga. Setiap orang tua pasti menginginkan anak yang sama seperti referensi yang ada dimasa lalu, ingin yang cantik, ganteng, pintar yang dinamakan kriteria ideal. Ketika ternyata yang dilahirkan memiliki suatu hambatan salah satunya kondisi tunagrahita, ekspektasi itu betul-betul menjadi sangat kontradiksi dengan kenyataan. Reaksi orang tua pada umumnya merasa kecewa dan akan menimbulkan berbagai masalah dalam kehidupan keluarga yang mengakibatkan berubahnya kualitas hidup keluarga. Di lapangan terdapat satu keluarga memiliki lima anak tunagrahita. Fokus penelitian adalah bagaimana problematika yang dihadapi keluarga yang memiliki lima anak tunagrahita ditinjau dari Family Quality of Life. Tujuan dari penelitian ini secara umum adalah mendeskripsikan secara mendalam problematika yang dihadapi keluarga yang memiliki lima anak tunagrahita berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang ada dalam Family Quality of Life. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif melalui studi kasus. Teknik penelitian menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah subjek penelitian yakni keluarga yang memiliki lima anak tunagrahita memiliki problematika pada sebagaian aspek/domain Family Quality of life yaitu kesehatan keluarga, dukungan saudara dan lingkungan terdekat, karir dan persiapan karir, pemanfaatan waktu luang serta dukungan dari kelembagaan yang menangani anak berkebutuhan khusus. Sedangkan pada aspek hubungan antar keluarga dan pengaruh nilai tidak terdapat permasalahan yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup keluarga. Selain itu, proses penerimaan orang tua terhadap anak berada pada tahap acceptance (menerima) dan pola pengasuhan yang diterapkan di dalam keluarga termasuk pola pengasuhan otoritatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjadikan rekomendasi bagi orang tua yang memiliki anak tunagrahita, pihak sekolah dan pemerintah sekitar supaya memberikan layanan/dukungan sesuai dengan masalah yang muncul dari keluarga sebagai subjek penelitian. Kata kunci : Anak Tunagrahita, Problematika Keluarga, Family Quality of Life ABSTRACT The Problems of a Family with Five Children with Intellectual Disabilities in terms of Family Quality of Life The presence of children in the family is considered to be one of the factors of family harmony. Every parent would want children who are the same as references in the past, want a beautiful, handsome, smart child which is called ideal criteria. When it turns out that those who are born have a barrier, one of which is intellectual disability, this expectation really contradicts reality. The reaction of parents in general is that they are disappointed and will cause various problems in family life which result in changes in the quality of family life. In the field, there is a family with five intellectual disabilities children. The focus of the research is how the problems faced by families with five intellectual disability children are viewed from the Family Quality of Life. The purpose of this study in general is to describe in depth the problems faced by families with children with intellectual disabilitie based on the aspects that are in the Family Quality of Life. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods through case studies. The research technique used observation, interviews and documentation study. The results of this study are the research subjects, namely a family with five mentally retarded children who have problems in part of the aspects / domains of Family Quality of life, namely family health, support from relatives and the immediate environment, career and career preparation, use of spare time and support from institutions that handle the child with special needed. As for the aspects of the relationship between families and the influence of values, there are no problems that can affect the quality of family life. In addition, the process of accepting parents to children is at the acceptance stage and the parenting patterns applied in the family include authoritative parenting. The results of this study make recommendations for parents who have mentally retarded children, schools and the local government to provide services / support in accordance with problems that arise from the family as research subjects.
