Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji concept image siswa terhadap materi segitiga setelah siswa mempelajari materi tersebut. Selanjutnya concept image yang dimiliki oleh siswa akan dibandingkan dengan concept image guru dan konsep saintifik menurut matematikawan, serta dilihat kesenjangan concept image yang terjadi antara ketiga subjek tersebut dan juga dilihat penyebab concept image yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi hermeneutik yang merupakan sebuah kajian yang dilakukan untuk menginterpretasikan suatu makna yang diperoleh seseorang terhadap suatu pengalaman. Siswa yang diteliti berjumlah 10 orang yang berasal dari kelas yang sama. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, terdapat perbedaan antara concept image matematikawan (konsep saintifik) dan concept image guru dalam menjelaskan mengenai segitiga, segitiga sebarang dan segitiga sama kaki, terdapat perbedaan yang jauh baik itu antara concept image matematikawan (konsep saintifik) dan concept image siswa, maupun antara concept image guru dan concept image siswa. Kata Kunci : concept image, segitiga, learning obstacle, fenomenologi hermeneutik. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to study students concept image on triangle based on students learning experience. Futhermore, the concept image of students will be compared to the concept image of the teacher and scientific concept represented by a mathematician, then will be seen the concept image gap that occurs between the three subjects and also seen the reasons the concept image of student. This research use qualitative method with hermeneutic phenomenology approach which is a study conducted to interpret humans understanding of an experience. Participants in this research are 10 students, who are from the same class. This research concludes that there is a gap between the mathematician concept image (scientific concept) and the teacher concept image in explaining triangle, any triangle and isosceles triangle, there is a significant gap either between mathematician concept image (scientific concept) and student concept image, and between teacher concept image and student concept image.
