Abstract

This study aimed to describing the implementation of peer assessment for product performance assessment on project-based learning on ecosystem concepts. This research using descriptive methods involving 34 high school student X grade. Peer assessment was held by contributing students as an assessor for their peer’s product in the group. Peer assessment was conducted three rounds of assessing i.e: designing product, product outcome, and product presentation. An analysis of the results of the performance assessment through peer assessment was conducted and also the similarity of the results performance assessment carried out through the peer assessment and the teacher's assessment at each stage was calculated by comparing the results of the assessment in the same category from the two assessment sources. The results of this study are the average product performance assesment at each stage (designing product: 79; product outcome: 76.4; and product presentation: 82). Meanwhile, the similarity of the results of assessment through peer assessment and teacher assessment at each stage (designing product: 54%; product outcome: 64.7%; and product presentation: 71%). Different experiences in conducting assessments, differences in the interpretation of the scoring rubric and other factors affect the acquisition of the assessment results obtained by students.
