Abstract
ABSTRAK SISMA AMY TASYANA (2020) “Pengaruh Metode TPR (Total Physical Response) Terhadap Penguasaan Kosakata Bahasa Inggris Siswa Sekolah Dasar” Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Kampus Serang, 2020. Penguasaan kosakata menjadi hal yang paling utama saat seseorang ingin menguasai suatu bahasa, termasuk Bahasa Inggris. Dan itu bisa mulai didapatkan saat mereka di tingkat sekolah dasar. Namun kenyataannya masih banyak siswa yang merasa kesulitan baik dalam menghafalnya atau menerapkannya di kehidupan sehari-hari, karena proses kegiatan belajar mereka yang terlalu konvensional dan monoton. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya pembelajaran yang tidak hanya bisa menyenangkan tetapi juga mampu memudahkan siswa memperkaya perbendaharaan kosakata mereka dan siap untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan saat adanya wabah virus Covid-19 sehingga akan ada beberapa penyesuaian dalam penyusunannya. Penelitian ini adalah tentang bagaimana proses pembelajaran menggunakan metode TPR (Total Physical Response) untuk penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa dan bagaimana hasil pembelajaran menggunakan metode TPR (Total Physical Response) terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi literatur dimana peneliti mendapatkan data yang disebut data sekunder dari beberapa penelitian terdahulu kemudian dibandingkan lalu disimpulkan oleh peneliti melalui sebuah deskripsi. Hasil penelitian dari berbagai peneliti terdahulu walau dengan cara penelitian yang berbeda-beda menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh baik dalam pelaksanaan Total Physical Response yang menyenangkan dan dapat membangun banyak kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa Sekolah Dasar dan guru diharapkan mampu mengembangkan kompetensi mereka dalam penerapan metode Total Physical Response. Vocabulary becomes the main thing when someone wants to master a language, including English. And it can be obtained since they are in the elementary school level. But in reality there are still many students who find it difficult either to memorize or apply it in daily life, because their learning processes are too conventional and monotonous. Therefore there is a need for learning that can not only be fun but also able to facilitate students to enrich their vocabulary and be ready to apply it in everyday life. This research was conducted during the Covid-19 virus outbreak so that there will be some adjustments in its preparation. This research is about how the learning process uses the TPR (Total Physical Response) method for students 'mastery of English vocabulary and how learning outcomes use the TPR (Total Physical Response) method for students' mastery of English vocabulary. The method used in this study is the study of literature where researchers obtain data called secondary data from several previous studies and then compared and then concluded by researchers through a description. The results of research from various previous researchers although in different ways of research show that there is a good influence in the implementation of a Total Physical Response which is fun and can build a lot of English vocabulary for Elementary School students and teachers are expected to be able to develop their competence in the application of the Total Physical Response method.
