Abstract
Pembelajaran piano iringan anak usia operasional konkret (7 – 11 tahun) memiliki kendala pada pola pikirnya yang belum bisa berpikir abstrak, melainkan konkret. Kendala ini diperparah dengan banyaknya guru yang hanya satu arah dan terlalu dominan menggunakan metode konvensional dalam mengajar. Hal ini membuat pembelajaran hanya bersifat abstrak, sehingga membutuhkan suatu model pembelajaran yang dapat menambah peran siswa dan menerjemahkan bahasa secara lebih konkret. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran melodi dan iringan piano anak berbasis notasi warna pada anak usia operasional konkret. Warna yang dekat dan disukai anak-anak, dimanfaatkan untuk membantu guru dalam menciptakan pembelajaran secara lebih konkret dan interaktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode DBR (Design Based Research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Awal penelitian, peneliti mewawancarai tiga guru piano untuk mencari masalah yang umum terjadi pada anak usia operasional konkret. Dari hasil wawancara, peneliti memutuskan untuk membuat rancangan model pembelajaran berbasis notasi warna dalam mengatasi masalah pengenalan melodi dan iringan broken chord. Rancangan tersebut diterapkan pada dua siswa usia operasional konkret sebanyak lima pertemuan. Evaluasi rancangan dilakukan pada tiap pertemuan untuk mendapatkan model yang lebih baik. Hasilnya, model pembelajaran berbasis notasi warna dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk memperkenalkan pola iringan broken chord pada anak usia operasional konkret. Penggunaan konsep notasi warna dapat membuat penjelasan menjadi lebih konkret. Aktivitas tambahan seperti mewarnai dan pemilihan warna oleh siswa juga menambah dominasi siswa dan mengurangi penggunaan metode konvensional guru dalam proses pembelajaran. In learning piano accompaniment for children of concrete operational age (7 - 11 years), there is obstacles in the child's mindset that makes them unable to think abstractly, but rather concretely. This obstacle becomes more serious because many teachers still use a one-way, conventional method in teaching. This only allows for abstract learning, and therefore a learning model that can further activate the role of students and translate language in a more concrete manner is needed. The purpose of this study is to develop a color notation-based learning model of melody and piano accompaniment for children of concrete operational age. The colors that are familiar and liked by the children are used to help teachers create more concrete and interactive learning. This research uses the Design Based Research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, literature study, and documentation. At the start of the study, the author interviewed three piano teachers to look for problems that commonly occur in children of concrete operational age. Based on the results of the interview, the researcher decided to design a learning model based on color notation to overcome the problems in melody recognition and broken chord accompaniment. The design was applied to two students of concrete operational age in five sessions. Design evaluation was carried out at each meeting to get a better model. As a result, the color notation-based learning model can be an alternative to introduce broken chord accompaniment patterns to children of concrete operational age. The use of color notation concept can make teacher's explanations more concrete. Additional activities such as coloring and selecting colors by students also increase their dominance and reduce the use of teachers' conventional methods in the learning process.
