Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “ perkembangan pendidikan Islam di Bandung tahun 1901-1942”. Secara umum penulisan skripsi ini didorong oleh keinginan penulis untuk melakukan kajian yang lebih mendalam mengenai pendidikan Islam di Bandung khususnya pada masa penjajahan Belanda. Studi ini secara garis besar ingin menjawab pertanyaan” bagaimana perkembangan pendidikan Islam di Bandung tahun 1901-1942?”. Untuk memfokuskan penelitian, penulis membuat empat buah pertanyaan sebagai berikut: (1) Bagaimana perkembangan Pendidikan Islam di Bandung pada akhir abad 19 ?; (2) Bagaimana perkembangan Pendidikan Islam di Bandung pada tahun 1901-1942?; (3) Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perkembangan pendidikan Islam di Bandung pada tahun 1901-1942?; (4) Kendala-kendala apa saja yang dihadapi dalam perkembangan pendidikan Islam di Bandung pada tahun 1901-1942. Untuk membahas permasalahan tersebut, peneliti melakukan kajian dengan menggunakan metode historis, yaitu meliputi pengumpulan sumber baik lisan maupun tulisan, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Sedangkan teknik penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu dengan menggunakan studi literatur dan wawancara. Peneliti dalam hal ini lebih memfokuskan penelitian melalui studi literatur guna memperoleh gambaran mengenai pendidikan Islam khususnya di Bandung dari sumber-sumber tertulis. Dari hasil kajian terhadap diperoleh gambaran bahwa dalam kurun waktu 1901-1942, pendidikan Islam di Bandung mengalami perkembangan. Perkembangan tersebut berkaitan dengan pencanangan Politik Etis tahun 1901 dan usaha-usaha yang dilakukan oleh para intelektual dan cendikiawan muslim dan keinginan dari masyarakat Bandung untuk memperoleh pendidikan Islam. Para cendekiawan-cendekiawan muslim tidak kenal menyerah dan dengan gigih terus memperjuangkan pendidikan Islam, walaupun harus melalui berbagai hambatan, halangan, dan rintangan. Kemajuan pendidikan Islam tidak lepas dari peran para kyai dan tokoh lainnya serta masyarakat yang selalu ikut andil dalam melawan kebijakan kolonial yang tidak memihak pada dunia pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Pendidikan Islam pada zaman penjajahan Belanda mengalami hambatan yang serius. Hal ini dikarenakan penjajah Belanda selain menjajah juga menyebarkan agama yang mereka anut, yaitu Kristen-Protestan. Pendidikan Islam banyak mengalami hambatan dalam menjalankan kegiatannya. Pendidikan Islam berlangsung di madrasah dan pondok pesantren, proses pendidikannya hampir sama dengan pendidikan Islam pada masa sebelumnya Abstract This thesis entitled "The development of Islamic education in Bandung in 1901-1942 " . In general, this thesis is driven by the desire of the author to do a deeper study of the Islamic education in London , especially in the Dutch colonial period . This study outlines wanted to answer the question " how the development of Islamic education in Bandung in 1901-1942 ? " . To focus the study , the authors make the following four questions : ( 1 ) How does the development of Islamic Education in London in the late 19th century ? ; ( 2 ) How does the development of Islamic Education in London in the year 1901 to 1942 ? ; ( 3 ) Factors influence the development of Islamic education in London in 1901-1942 ? ; ( 4 ) what are the constraints faced in the development of Islamic education in London in 1901-1942 . To address these problems , the researchers conducted a study using the historical method , which involves collecting both oral and written sources , source criticism , interpretation , and historiography . While the techniques of research conducted by using a literature study and interviews . Researchers in this study focuses more on literature study in order to obtain an overview of Islamic education , especially in Bandung from written sources . From the results of the study indicated that in the period 1901-1942 , Islamic education in London has developed . The development is related to the launching of the Ethical Policy in 1901 and the efforts made by Muslim intellectuals and scholars and the desire of the public to obtain Bandung Islamic education . The Muslim scholars do not know surrender and continued to fight fiercely Islamic education , despite having to go through various obstacles , impediments , and obstacles . Advancement of education can not be separated from the role of Islamic clerics and other figures as well as people who always took part in the fight against colonial policies that are not in favor of Islamic education in Indonesia . Islamic education in the Dutch colonial era experienced a serious obstacle . This is because in addition to colonize the Dutch colonists also spread their religion , which is Christian - Protestant . Islamic education many obstacles in carrying out its activities . Islamic education takes place at the school and boarding school , education is almost the same as the process of Islamic education in the past .
