Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya keterampilan membaca yang harus dimiliki setiap orang. Selain itu, tuntutan dan kebutuhan pendidikan abad ke-21 yaitu, menjadikan siswa dan lulusannya mumpuni. Namun saat ini kemampuan membaca masyarakat Indonesia masih rendah. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Solusi yang dilakukan adalah menerapkan metode situasi bacaan berbasis kecerdasan sosial dalam pembelajaran pemahaman. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 48 Bandung tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran membaca yang telah dilakukan selama ini di sekolah, menggambarkan proses pelaksanaan metode situasi bacaan berbasis kecerdasan sosial dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman, membuktikan efektivitas metode membaca situasi bacaan berbasis kecerdasan sosial dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen. Desain yang digunakan oleh peneliti berupa desain The Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel pada desain ini tidaklah random. Penerapan metode survey and decide berbasis kecerdasan sosial dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 48, berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik terbukti efektif. Berdasarkan uji t test, penerapan metode survey and decide berbasis kecerdasan sosial dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman didapatkan hasil yang signifikan. Dengan demikian, metode survey and decide berbasis kecerdasan sosial dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman.----------This research is motivated by the importance of reading skills that everyone must have. In addition, the demands and educational needs of the 21st century, namely, making students and graduates qualified. But now the reading ability of Indonesian people is still low. Thus, a solution is needed to overcome this problem. The solution to this is to apply the method of reading situations based on social intelligence in understanding learning. The subjects in this study were the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 48 Bandung in the academic year 2018/2019. The purpose of this study was to describe the process of implementing reading learning so far in school, describing the process of implementing social intelligence-based reading situation methods in reading comprehension learning, proving the effectiveness of the method of reading social intelligence-based reading situations in understanding reading learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasiexperimental method. The design used by researchers is the design of The Matching-Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample in this design is not random. The application of survey and decide methods based on social intelligence in reading comprehension learning in class VIII SMP Negeri 48, based on the results of statistical analysis proved effective. Based on the t test, the application of survey and decide methods based on social intelligence in reading comprehension learning showed significant results. Thus, survey and decide methods based on social intelligence can be applied in reading comprehension learning.
