Abstract

Cara berpikir akan mempengaruhi penggambaran seseorang terhadap suatu peristiwa atau permasalahan. Hal ini tentu berpengaruh pula terhadap bagaimana seseorang menghadapi dan menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. Saat ini banyak orang yang bertindak tidak melalui pemikiran yang baik, sehingga bukan tidak mungkin akan semakin memperburuk keadaan bahkan menambah permasalahan baru. Perlu adanya upaya untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, salah satunya melalui pengintegrasian Problem Based Learning ke dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan habits of mind dan kemampuan representasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan habits of mind dan kemampuan representasi pada siswa melalui penerapan Problem Based Learning pada pembelajaran ekosistem dan perubahan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah weak experiment. Jumlah sampel 35 siswa dengan tekhnik cluster random samplimg. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket habits of mind dan soal uraian kemampuan representasi. Hasil instrumen dihitung dengan menggunakan N-gain untuk melihat peningkatan sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa habits of mind dan kemampuan representasi siswa mengalami peningkatan dalam kategori sedang. Namun karena habits of mind diperlukan waktu yang lebih lama untuk mencapai pembentukan yang maksimal, sehingga pada penelitian ini habits of mind dan kemampuan representasi tidak memiliki keterkaitan yang signifikan.----------The way of thinking will affect one's depiction of an event or problem. This certainly influences how someone faces and resolves a problem. Nowdays many people are acting not through good thinking, so it is not impossible that it will worsen the situation and even add new problems. There needs to be an effort to overcome this, one of which is through the integration of Problem Based Learning into learning to improve habits of mind and representation capabilities. This study aims to analyze the increase in habits of mind and representation ability in students through the application of Problem Based Learning in ecosystem learning and environmental change. The method used is the weak experiment. The number of samples was 35 students with cluster random sampling technique. The instruments used were in the form of habits of mind questionnaire and a description of representation ability. The instrument results were calculated using N-gain to see improvements before and after being treated. The results of the study present that students' habits of mind and representation ability experienced an increase in the medium category. However, because habits of mind takes a longer time to achieve maximum formation, so in this study habits of mind and the ability of representation do not have a significant relationship.
