Abstract

The development of body concept on visual impairment children needs to be taught specifically and structurally, because in its application there were early visual impairment children and did not have the ability to understand the body concept well. This happens because visual impairment children experience an inability to see information directly related to the development of body concepts and to imitate physical activities that occur around them. The development of body concept has not been done in the children’s family environment because parents did not fully understand the right way to develop the children’s body concept. Therefore, parents need a program on how to develop the body concept of visual impairment children. The purpose of this research is the development of a body concept program for children with visual impairment based on parents. This research uses the Research & Development (R & D) research method which consists of 5 stages, first stage obtains the objective conditions of the children and parents as well as the previous program, second stage arrange the program as needed, third stage is the validation process to the expert, fourth stage implementation of the program, and fifth stage is program evaluation. The results of the implementation were using by comparing the results of the scores before and after the program implementation. The created program has a positive impact on parents and children
