Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempreparasi zeolit dari fly ash menggunakan metode alkali-hidrotermal dengan pretreatment gelombang ultrasonik-mikro dan aplikasinya pada adsorpsi logam Cu dari larutan. Fly ash (FA) tanpa pretreatment dibandingkan dengan FA pretreatment, dan pretreatment yang dilakukan secara berurutan yakni menggunakan gelombang ultrasonik (US) selama 30 menit lalu gelombang mikro (GM) selama 45 menit. Metode alkali-hidrotermal yang dilakukan menggunakan larutan basa NaOH [® LOBA Chemie] 3,5 M (rasio 1:8) selama 24 jam pada suhu pemanasan 160°C dalam set alat Teflon autoclave 100 mL. Karakterisasi XRD dari zeolit fly ash (ZFA) hasil konversi mengindikasikan bahwa dua ZFA termasuk kelompok zeolit Cancrinite, yakni Cancrisilite 1381) pada ZFA tanpa -O] (ICDD No. 462.3H3)CO24O7Si5Al(7[Na O]2.2H24)O3(CO6Si6Ca.Al6[NaCancrinite AH), dan -(ZFA pretreatment(ICDD No. 37-0415) pada ZFA dengan pretreatment (ZFA-US-GM-AH). Hasil karakterisasi FTIR pada ZFA menunjukkan serapan khas zeolit kelompok Cancrinite pada daerah bilangan gelombang 460,99 dan 574,79; 570,93; 621,08; dan 684,73 ); Si-O-Si tekuk (vibrasi 1-cm 455,20); 964,41 dan 962,48 Alatau T, T = Si-O-ulur simetris dari T (vibras 1-cm dariH -O tekukasi (vibr 1-1633,71 cm ); serta4Al dalam TO-O-Si( 1-cmaluminosilikat hidrat). Keberhasilan konversi ZFA pun dibuktikan dengan hasil SEM yang menunjukkan bahwa dua ZFA memiliki morfologi kristal berbentuk tabung. Kajian adsorpsi ZFA terhadap logam Cu dalam larutan dilakukan melalui dua tahapan optimasi, yakni optimasi waktu kontak dengan nilai optimum pada waktu kontak 6 jam dan optimasi pH pada nilai pH 6. Proses adsorpsi dengan variasi mg/g untuk 72,78mg/g dan 4,349 mnilai Q konsentrasi menghasilkanZFA-AH dan ZFA-US-GM-AH secara berturut-turut. Plot data adsorpsi bagi ZFA-AH dan ZFA-US-GM-AH menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan model isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir, dengan nilai R² secara berturut-turut adalah 0,9341 dan 0,9452. This research aims to prepare zeolites from fly ash using alkali-hydrothermal method with ultrasonic-micro wave pretreatment and to apply the zeolites for Cu2+ adsorption from solution. The performance of fly ash (FA) was compared to pretreated FA, and the pretreatment was carried out sequentially using ultrasonic wave (US) for 30 minutes then microwave (GM) for 45 minutes. The alkali-hydrothermal method was carried out using alkaline solution of 3.5 M NaOH [® LOBA Chemie] (ratio 1:8) for 24 hours at a heating temperature of 160oC in a 100mL set of Teflon autoclave tool. Characterization of XRD from converted fly ash zeolite (ZFA) indicated that two ZFAs included in the zeolite Cancrinite group, namely Cancrisilite [Na7(Al5Si7O24)CO3.3H2O] (ICDD No. 46-1381) in ZFA without pretreatment (ZFA-AH), and Cancrinite [Na6Ca.Al6Si6(CO3)O24.2H2O] (ICDD No. 37-0415) in ZFA with pretreatment (ZFA-US-GM-AH). The result of FTIR characterization on ZFA showed typical uptake of zeolite in the Cancrinite group in the wave number area of 460.99 and 455.20 cm-1 (bending vibration of Si-O-Si), 574.79; 570.93; 621.08 and 684.73 cm-1 (stretching vibration (symmetric) of T-O-T, where T is Si or Al), 964.41 and 962.48 cm-1 (band of Si-O-Al on TO4), and 1633.71 cm-1 (bending vibration of O-H on hydrated aluminosilicate). The success of ZFA conversion was also proven by SEM result which showed that two ZFAs has tubular crystal morphology. The study of ZFA adsorption on Cu metal from solution was carried out through two stages of optimization, namely optimization of contact time with optimum value at 6 hours contact time, and pH optimization at pH 6. Adsorption process with variations of concentration give the result Qm value 94.34 mg/g and 87.72 mg/g for ZFA-AH and ZFA-US-GM-AH, respectively. The plot of adsorption showed conformity with the isotherm adsorption model of Langmuir for ZFA-AH and ZFA-US-GM-AH, with R2 values of 0.9341 and 0.9452, respectively.
