Abstract

Lira Novita Sari (2019). Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah dan Self Efficacy Matematis Siswa MTs melalui Pembelajaran Model Eliciting Activities (MEA) Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self efficacy siswa. Namun, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan self efficacy siswa pada kenyataannya masih rendah. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen yang menggunakan non-quivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII pada salah satu MTs di Kota Bandung dengan sampelnya yaitu 32 orang siswa untuk kelas eksperimen dan 31 orang siswa untuk kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan non tes. Analisis kuantitatif menggunakan uji-t dan uji Mann-Whitney. Analisis kualitatif dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pencapaian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan Model Eliciting Activities lebih baik secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional secara keseluruhan dan berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematis (tinggi, sedang, rendah); (2) peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan Model Eliciting Activities lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional dan kemampuan awal matematis sedang. Akan tetapi berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematis tinggi dan kemampuan awal matematis rendah menunjukkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang menggunakan Model Eliciting Activities tidak lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional (3) pencapaian self efficacy matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan Model Eliciting Activities tidak lebih baik secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional secara keseluruhan dan berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematis (tinggi, sedang, rendah). Mathematical Problem Solving Ability and Mathematical Self Efficacy of Islamic Junior High School Students through Model Eliciting Activities Learning (MEA) This study is backgrounded by the importance of mathematical problem solving and self efficacy among students. But in fact, mathematical problem solving and self efficacy among students are still low. This study is quasi experiment which used non-quivalent control group design. The population in this study are all students of 7^th grade on one MTs in Bandung City with sample are 32 students for experiment group and 31 students for control group. The instruments used is test and non-test. Quantitative analysis uses t-test and Mann-Whitney test. Qualitative analysis is done descriptively. The study result shows that: (1) the achievement of mathematical problem solving ability among students who learned mathematics under Model Eliciting Activities is significantly better than students who learned with conventional learning in a whole and based on Prior Mathematical Knowledge (high, medium, low); (2) the enhancement of the students mathematical problem solving ability of who learned using Model Eliciting Activities is significantly higher than the students who learned with conventional learning and medium Prior Mathematical Knowledge. However, based on high Prior Mathematical Knowledge and low Prior Mathematical Knowledge, it showed that mathematical problem solving ability of who worked under Model Eliciting Activities is not significantly higher than students who learned with conventional learning; (3) the achievement of mathematical self efficacy of who learned mathematics under Model Eliciting Activities is not significantly better than students who learned mathematics under conventional learning in a whole and based on Prior Mathematical Knowledge (high, medium, low).
