Abstract
Sertifikasi profesi pustakawan ialah pemberian jaminan tertulis bahwa seseorang telah memiliki kompetensi pustakawan. Dengan mengikuti tes sertifikasi, pustakawan dapat melihat kemampuan dirinya dalam bidang tertentu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu agar pustakawan mengetahui kompetensi yang harus dimiliki sebagai landasan dalam menjalankan pekerjaan, selain itu pustakawan dapat meningkatkan eksistensi dirinya dan lebih percaya diri dengan profesi yang dimiliki. Pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan ialah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket dengan populasi dari perpustakaan UPI, STPB, POLBAN, ITB dan UIN. Sampel yang digunakan sebesar 29 dari 40 populasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara persepsi pustakawan mengenai sertifikasi profesi dengan kompetensi profesional pustakawan dengan tingkat korelasi berada pada kategori kuat dan signifikasn. Secara garis besar persepsi pustakawan mengenai serifikasi profesi termasuk pada kategori baik dan besarnya kompetensi profesional pustakawan perguruan tinggi negeri di Bandung berada pada kategori baik. Direkomendasikan agar pustakawan dapat mengembangkan kompetensi profesional dengan mengikuti tes sertifikasi profesi pustakawan guna meningkatkan eksistensi pustakawan. Librarian profession certification is a written guarantee that someone already has a competence as a librarian. By following certification tests, librarians can see their skills in a particular field. The purpose of this study is to know the competencies required as the librarians as a base or reference in carrying out the work. Furthermore, this research aims to improve librarians' existence and give confidence to the profession possessed. The research method used in this study was quantitative approach with descriptive correlational method and the questionnaire as the instrumens to data. The population for this study is libraries of UPI, STPB, POLBAN, ITB and UIN. The sample used is 29 of the 40 population. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a connection between the perception of librarians regarding the certification of librarian profession and the competencies of professional librarian. The level of correlation falls into the category of strong and significant. Overall, librarians perceptions regarding professional certification included in both categories and the magnitude of the professional competence of librarians of the universities in Bandung are in good category. It is recommended that librarians can develop professional competence by participating professional certification tests in order to improve the existence of librarians competencies.
