Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakanstudi kasus yang bertujuan untuk menemukan strategi pembelajaran membaca bagi anak autisme non-verbal. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua metode yang dipadukan. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk menemukan strategi pembelajaran membaca yang sesuai dengan potensi anak yang menjadi partisipan penelitian, dan metode kuantitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk mengetahui dampak dari penerapan strategi pembelajaran membaca bagianakautismenon-verbal yang telah dirancang. Penelitianinimelibatkanenam partisipan, yaitu seorang anak terdiagnosis autismenon-verbal yang didasarkanpadahasil diagnosis dokter, orang tua dari anak yang menjadi partisipan penelitian, dua orang guru, satu koordinator guru dan seorang pengelola pusat layanan terapi bagi anak autisme. Peneltian ini menghasilkan strategi pembelajaranmembaca bagi anak autismenon-verbal denganmenggunakan pendekatan sight word reading yaitu pendekatan membaca dengan menggunakan memori yang diajarkan secara terstruktur dengan metode perilaku terapan.Hasildariimplementasi strategi pembelajarandengan sight word reading inimenunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca anak yang menjadi partisipan penelitian.Delapanpuluh lima persen (85%) tulisan yang diperlihatkanpadaanak saatpembelajaran pemahaman bahasa dapat langsung iabacasesuaidenganrespon yang diharapkan;--- This paper attempts to promote learning strategies for reading for non-verbal autistic children. This study employed two integrated methods, where the descriptive qualitative part was used to examine learning strategies for reading that are suitable to the potential of autistic children in the study and the quantitative descriptive method was used to assess the impact of the implementation of strategies for learning reading to non-verbal autism children. This study involved six participants, namely a child diagnosed with non-verbal autism based on the results of a doctor's diagnosis, parents of the child who participated in the study, two teachers, one teacher coordinator and a manager of a therapy service center for children with autism. This research produced a reading learning strategy for non-verbal autism children by using the sight word reading approach, which is a reading approach that teaches memory structurally with applied behavior methods. The results of the implementation of the learning strategy with sight word reading approach show an increase in the reading ability of the child participated in the study. Eighty-five percent (85%) of writing shown to the child when learning language comprehension can be read directly in accordance with the expected response from the child.
