Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya perhatian terhadap tokoh pendidikan Islam. Secara faktual dalam perkembangan pendidikaan di Indonesia lebih di dominasi oleh pemikiran sekuler yang berakibat split personality ata terbaginya kepribadian yang utuh. Abdurrahman Ibnu Khaldun tokoh fenomenal dalam pendidikan Islam sebagai ilmuwan dan sejarawan, tetapi juga bisa digolongkan ke dalam berbagai spesialis disiplin keilmuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang konsep pendidikan Ibnu Khaldun yang mencakup: tujuan pendidikan,peserta didik, pendidik, metode pendidikan, kurikulum, dan lingkungan pendidikan serta mengkaji relevansinya dengan sistem pendidikan nasional. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian studi kepustakaan. Sumber primer yang digunakan adalah karya fenomenalnya ialah buku Muqaddimah dan sumber penunjangnya adalah buku-buku yang mengkaji pemikiran pendidikan Ibnu Khaldun. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini bahwa terdapat beberapa relevansi antara konsep pendidikan Ibnu Khaldun dengan sistem pendidikan nasional, sehingga pemikiran ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi pengembangan pendidikan di Indonesia. This background of this research is motivated by the lack of attention to Islamic education figures, the development of education in Indonesia, educational thinkers learn from developed countries, so that their thinking cannot be separated from figures in the western world and will also affect Islamic education in Indonesia. Therefore, the researcher examined further from the figure of Islamic education, namely one of the Islamic thinkers of Abdurrahman Ibn Khaldun who was better known as a scientist and historian, but could also be classified into various scientific disciplinary specialists. This study aims to describe the concept of Ibn Khaldun's education which includes: educational goals, students, teacher, educational methods, curriculum, and educational environment and assesses their relevance to the national education sistem. The method in this study library research. The primary source used is the phenomenal work is the Muqaddimah book and its supporting sources are books that examine Ibn Khaldun's educational thought. The conclusion obtained from this study is that there is some relevance between the concept of Ibn Khaldun's education and the national education sistem, so that this thinking can be a reference for the development of education in Indonesia.
