Abstract
Penelitian ini berdasarkan pengamatan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMP Negeri 14 Bandung dalam pembelajaran IPS masih rendah,dilihat dari hasil obserasi peneliti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model isu-isu kontroversial,alat penelitian menggunakan soal-soal yang menggunakan isu-isu kontroversial dan soal-soal yang kritis. Metode penelitian diolah dengan studi kuasi eksperimen dengan teknik ssampling non-probality sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model isu-isu kontroversial berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di bandingkan dengan model think pair and share dengan 32,47% dikelas eksperimen dan 22,51% di kelas kontrol. This research is based on the observation that the critical thinking ability of junior high school students 14 Bandung in the learning of IPS is still low, judging by the results of the researchers obharmonious. This research aims to analyse the influence of controversial issues, research tools using questions that use controversial issues and critical questions. The research method was processed with experimental quasi study with non-probality sampling technique. The results showed that the model of controversial issues affected students ' critical thinking skills in the IPS learning in comparison with the think pair and share models with 32.47% in class experiments and 22.51% in the control class.
