Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di lapangan yang melihat adanya beberapa masalah yang berkaitan dengan kurangnya kecerdasan interpersonal siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 7 Bandung khususnya kelas VII, yang ditandai dengan pertama; pada saat guru menyampaikan materi siswa tidak memperhatikan guru dengan baik, kemampuan berpendapat dan bertanya siswa masih rendah, guru cenderung masih menggunakan metode ceramah dalam menyampaikan materi IPS sehingga siswa terlihat merasa bosan dalam pembelajaran IPS, siswa lebih senang jika pengerjaan tugas dilakukan secara individu dibandingkan tugas secara berkelompok, sehingga aktivitas komunikasi antar individu pada saat kesempatan diskusi cenderung kaku/monoton, karena beberapa siswa kurang dapat berperan aktif dalam kelompok dan hanya mengandalkan beberapa siswa lainnya. Adapun penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh metode pembelajaran project based learning terhadap kecerdasan interpersonal siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 7 Bandung di anggap tepat untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang ada karena komunikasi yang terjalin dalam kegiatan kerjasama siswa pada metode pembelajaran berbasis proyek membantu proses pengembangan pengetahuan (meaning-making process) dan peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam aspek komunikasi, saling menghargai, tanggung jawab dan berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan diskusi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain “non-equivalent control group design” dengan pola sebelum dan sesudah yang masing-masing dilakukan sebanyak satu kali serta dilakukan treatment pada dua kelas saja yaitu kelas VII-D sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VII-G sebagai kelass kontrol. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampel bertujuan (purposive sample). Pengumpulan data kecerdasan interpersonal siswa menggunakan angket tertutup. Setelah data terkumpul, lalu dilakukan analisis secara kuantitatif melalui uji hipotesis atau Uji- t. Diperoleh hasil analisis antara pengukuran pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebelum diberikan treatment menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan antara keduanya. Namun, terdapat perbedaan kecerdasan interpersonal antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat efektivitas dari metode pembelajaran project based learning yang berpengaruh terhadap kecerdasan interpersonal siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. This research was conducted based on the results of observations in the field that saw a number of problems related to the lack of interpersonal intelligence of students in social studies learning in SMP Negeri 7 Bandung especially in class VII, which was marked by the first; when the teacher conveys the material students do not pay attention to the teacher well, the ability to think and ask students is still low, the teacher tends to still use the lecture method in delivering social studies material so that students look bored in social studies learning, students are more happy if the work on assignments is done individually rather than assignments in groups, so that communication activities between individuals at the time of discussion opportunities tend to be stiff , because some students are less able to play an active role in groups and only rely on a few other students. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of project based learning methods on students' interpersonal intelligence in social studies learning at SMP Negeri 7 Bandung, which is considered appropriate to overcome existing problems because communication that exists in student collaboration activities on project-based learning methods helps the process of developing knowledge (meaning-making process) and improving students' abilities in the aspects of communication, mutual respect, responsibility and active participation in discussion activities. This study uses a quasiexperimental method with the design of "non-equivalent control group design" with a pattern of before and after, each of which was carried out once and treated in two classes, namely VII-D class as the experimental class and VII -G as a control class. Sampling using purposive sample technique. Data collection of students' interpersonal intelligence uses a closed questionnaire. After the data is collected, quantitative analysis is done through hypothesis testing or t-test. Obtained analysis results between measurements in the experimental and control class before being given treatment showed there was no difference between the two. However, there are differences in interpersonal intelligence between before and after treatment is given. So it can be concluded that there is effectiveness of the project based learning method of learning that affects students' interpersonal intelligence in social studies learning.
