Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya penggunaan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning melalui pembuatan proyek komik sejarah yang sudah menjadi agenda tahunan guru IPS kelas VII di SMP Negeri 5 Bandung. Pelaksanakan Project Based Learning melalui komik sejarah ini dilakukan dalam rangka mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk : 1) mengetahui alasan guru memilih model pembelajaran Project Based Learning melalui komik sejarah dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa; 2) mendeskripsikan bagaimana pelaksanaan Project Based Learning melalui komik sejarah dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa; 3) mengetahui apa saja kendala yang dialami oleh guru selama pelaksanaan Project Based Learning melalui komik sejarah dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif kualitatif di kelas VII-G SMP Negeri 5 Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kegiatan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil temuan peneliti menunjukan bahwa pelaksanaan Project Based Learning melalui komik sejarah dapat mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada tahap analitis yang meliputi kemampuan siswa dalam menemukan fakta dan informasi terkait materi sejarah yang lengkap dan relevan, mengolah informasi sejarah melalui kegiatan bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan, meyusun langkah kerja serta mampu menginterpretasikan informasi sejarah secara kronologis dan lengkap kedalam bentuk komik sejarah;---This study was motivated by the use of Project Based Learning model through the creation of historical comic project that had become an annual agenda by the 7th grade Social Studies Teacher at 5 Junior High school Bandung. The implementation of Project Based Learning through historical comics was performed in order to develop students' critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study were: 1) to find out the reason of the teacher chose the Project Based Learning through historical comics in developing students' critical thinking skills; 2) to describe how the implementation of Project Based Learning through historical comics in developing students' critical thinking skills; 3) to find out what were the obstacles experienced by teacher during the implementation of Project Based Learning through historical comics in developing students' critical thinking skills. This study was a qualitative descriptive study in VII-G class of 5 Junior High School Bandung. Data collection techniques were collected through interview, observation, and documentary study. Researcher's finding showed that the implementation of Project Based Learning through historical comics could develop students' critical thinking skills on the analytical stage which covered the ability of students in finding facts and information about the relevant and complete historical material, processing historical information through asking and answering questions, arranging work steps and being able to interpret historical information chronologically and completely into the form of historical comics.
