Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pada persoalan buta aksara di kalangan masyarakat miskin kawasan perdesaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ialah untuk mengetahui hasil pengembangan model pendidikan keaksaraan melalui LEA (Language Experience Approach) berbasis pola keluarga. Desain model yang dikembangkan merupakan model pendidikan keaksaraan yang dirancang secara nyata dan relevan berdasarkan pengalaman berbahasa warga belajar. Dalam pengembangan model ini, pengalaman yang dimiliki warga belajar dijadikan bahan untuk melatih mereka dalam membaca, menulis, dan berhitung disesuaikan dengan hal yang biasa mereka temui dalam keseharian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Adapun data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Data kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan model keaksaraan yang diterapkan secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan keaksaraan warga belajar. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa model pendidikan keaksaraan melalui LEA berbasis pola keluarga bagi masyarakat miskin kawasan perdesaan. Melalui pengembangan model ini diharapakan dapat menjadi salah satu upaya alternatif dalam proses percepatan penuntasan buta aksara. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Keaksaraan, Buta Aksara, LEA Berbasis Pola Keluarga This research is motivated by the problem of illiteracy among the poor people in rural areas. The purpose of the study is to know the development of the literacy education model through the family pattern-based LEA (Language Experience Approach). The design of the developed model is the model of a real and relevant literacy education based on the experience of speaking citizens. In the development of this model, the experience that citizens have learned is used as materials to train them in reading, writing, and counting according to the things they commonly meet in everyday life. The research methods are used in the form of research and development methods (R&D). Research data is collected through observations, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data is then analyzed using qualitative and quantitative techniques. Based on the results of the study showed a significantly applied literacy model can improve the literacy skills of the citizens. This study resulted in a model of literacy education through a family-based LEA pattern for poor rural communities. Through the development of this model is hoped to be one of the alternative efforts in the process of accelerating the character blindness.
