Abstract
Pesantren sebagai salah satu institusi pendidikan memiliki peranan penting dalam pembangunan pendidikan di Indonesia. Untuk itu, peranan manajemen pesantren yang baik sangat diperlukan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peranan dan pelaksanaan manajemen pesantren modern dalam pembentukan karakter islami santri di Pondok Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Garut, manajemen pesantren modern dalam pembentukan karakter Islami santri terkait bidang tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan, kurikulum, dan kesiswaan di Pondok Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Garut, dan juga faktor pendukung dan penghambat di dalam pembentukan karakter islami santri di Pondok Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Garut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Penelitian ini menghasilkan beberapa hal, yaitu diantara sepuluh peranan manajamen seperti The Figure Head, The Leader Role, The Liaison Role, The Monitor Role, The Disseminator Role, The Spokesperson Role, The Enterpreneur Role, The Disturbance Handler Role, The Resource Allocator Role, dan The Negotiator Role, peranan manajemen pesantren yang mendominasi yaitu enterpreneur role, sedangkan peranan manajemen pesantren yang tidak dominan adalah monitor role. Pelaksanaan manajemen pesantren modern bidang tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan, dan kurikulum sudah terencana, terkoordinasi, terlaksana, dan terawasi dengan baik, sedangkan untuk pelaksanaan manajemen pesantren modern bidang kesiswaan belum terlaksana dengan baik terutama di pelaksanaan dan pengawasan (pengevaluasian).;---Pesantren, as an educational institution, has an important role in the development of education in Indonesia. For this reason, the role of a good pesantren is very necessary. The purpose of this research was to determine the role and implementation of modern pesantren management in the formation of Islamic santri character in Pondok Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Garut, modern pesantren management in the formation of Islamic character of santri in the field of teaching and education personnel, curriculum and student affairs at Pondok Pesantren Darul Arqam Muhammadiyah Garut, and also supporting and inhibiting factors in the formation of Islamic character of students at Darul Arqam Islamic Boarding School Muhammadiyah Garut. This research used qualitative approach with case study. This study produced several things, namely among ten management roles such as The Figure Head, The Leader Role, The Liaison Role, The Monitor Role, The Disseminator Role, The Spokesperson Role, The Entrepreneur Role, The Disturbance Handler Role, The Resource Allocator Role, and The Negotiator Role. The dominant role in the boarding school management is the role entrepreneur, while the role of pesantren management that is not dominant is the role monitor. The implementation of modern pesantren management in the field of educators and education personnel, and the curriculum has been well planned, coordinated, actuated and supervised, while for the implementation of modern pesantren management the field of student affairs has not been implemented well especially in actuation and supervision (evaluating).
