Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara yang dilakukan pada guru di SMK Negeri 8 Bandung, Hasil belajar 15 orang peserta didik (52%) belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal. Hasil belajar dapat ditingkatkan dengan penggunaan media pada proses pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui tanggapan peserta didik terhadap alat peraga continuously variable transmissions, mengetahui gambaran keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga, dan mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan alat peraga terhadap pemahaman prinsip kerja sistem transmisi otomatis di SMK Negeri 8 Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi experimental dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 43 peserta didik kelas XI program studi Teknik Bisnis Sepeda Motor yang terdiri dari 19 peserta didik kelas eksperimen dan 24 peserta didik kelas kontrol. Tanggapan peserta didik terhadap alat peraga diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa angket, gambaran keterlaksanaan pembelajaran diperoleh dengan pengamatan peneliti, dan pengaruh penggunaan alat peraga diperoleh dengan mengerjakan soal pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukan persentase tanggapan peserta didik terhadap alat peraga adalah 84% dan termasuk kategori baik. Pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga dapat memberikan pengalaman langsung kepada peserta didik sehingga peserta didik lebih dapat memahami materi yang disampaikan guru. Hasil rata-rata nilai pretest kelas eksperimen hanya mendapat 57,89, namun setelah pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga continuously variable transmissions rata-rata nilai posttest peserta didik berubah menjadi 86,32 dengan rata-rata nilai n-gain sebesar 0,68. Hasil penelitian kelas kontrol rata-rata nilai pretest peserta didik mendapat nilai 47,92 dan setelah diberikan treatment berubah menjadi 67,29 dengan rata-rata nilai n-gain sebesar 0,37. Hal itu menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan media alat peraga continuously variable transmissions dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar ranah kognitif peserta didik. Learning outcomes can be improved by the use of media in the learning process. This study aims to determine students' responses to the continuously variable transmissions teaching props, to know the depiction of implementation of learning using teaching props, and to know the impact of the use of teaching props on understanding the working principle of automatic transmission system at Vocational High School 8 Bandung. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. This research was conducted on 43 students of class XI Motorcycle Business Engineering Study Program consisting of 19 experimental students and 24 control students. Students' responses to teaching aids were obtained using a research instrument by a form of a questionnaire, depiction of the implementation of learning was obtained by the observation by researchers, and the impact of the use of teaching props was obtained by working on pretest and posttest questions. The results showed the percentage of students' responses to teaching props was 84% and included in both categories. Learning using teaching props can provide direct experience to students so that students can understand more about the material delivered by the teacher. The average score of the experimental class pretest only got 57.89, but after learning to use the continuously variable transmissions teaching prop the average posttest value of students changed to 86.32 with an average value of n-gain of 0.68. The results of the control class study, the average of students' pretest value got a 47.92 and after being given treatment changed to 67.29 with an average value of n-gain of 0.37. It shows that learning using media of continuously variable transmissions props can improve learning outcomes of students' cognitive domains.
