    Abstract

    Latar belakang dari penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) efektivitas penggunaan teknik shadowing dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak siswa; (2) hasil pembelajaran menyimak dengan menggunakan teknik shadowing; (3) tanggapan para siswa terhadap penggunaan teknik shadowing dalam pembelajaran menyimak bahasa Perancis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre-experimental design dengan pola one group pre-test – post-test. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 30 orang siswa kelas XI AP 1 SMK PGRI Subang Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018 dengan teknik random sampling, serta instrument yang digunakan berupa tes dan angket. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik shadowing efektif dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menyimak siswa kelas XI AP 1 SMK PGRI Subang Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Hal itu dapat dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan data statistik tentang nilai uji t. Hasil analisis data yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah nilai rata-rata prates 79,9 sedangkan nilai rata-rata pascates 87,9. Dengan demikian, setelah dilakukan perlakuan dengan teknik shadowing, kemampuan menyimak siswa meningkat sebesar 8% jika dirubah kedalam bentuk persentase. Dari hasil tersebut didapatkan nilai thitung 3,88 dengan db=29. Maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa ttabel sebesar 1.69 < thitung sebesar 3.88 untuk taraf signifikansi 5% dan nilai nilai ttabel sebesar 2.46 < thitung sebesar 3.88 untuk taraf signifikansi 1% (nilai thitung kurang dari ttabel) dapat dikatakan bahwa hipotesis kerja (Hk) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak.;---The background of this study aims to describe: (1) the effectiveness of using shadowing techniques in improving students' listening skills; (2) the results of listening learning using the shadowing technique; (3) students' responses to the use of the shadowing technique in listening to French. The research design used was pre-experimental design with the pattern of one group pre-test - post-test. The study sample consisted of 30 students in class XI AP 1 of SMK PGRI Subang with random sampling technique, as well as the instruments used in the form of tests and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that the shadowing technique is effective in learning listening skills of students of class XI AP 1 SMK PGRI Subang. This can be proven by the results of the calculation of statistical data about the value of the t test. The result of data analysis obtained from this study is the average score of pre-test 79.9 while the average post-test score is 87.9. Thus, after being treated with the shadowing technique, the ability to listen to students increased by 8% if converted into percentage form. From these results obtained tcount 3.88 with db = 29. So it can be concluded that ttable of 1.69 < tcount is 3.88 for the significance level of 5% and the value of ttable is 2.46 < tcount for 3.88 for the significance level of 1% (tcount less than ttable) can be said that the working hypothesis (Hk) is accepted and the hypothesis zero (H0) is rejected.
