Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran model mental siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskrptif dengan instrumen penelitian berupa tes diagonistik model mental- Interview About Event (TDM-IAE) yang telah divalidasi. Penelitian dilakukan kepada enam siswa kelas XII IPA di salah satu SMA Negeri di kota Bandung, Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa siswa kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah mudah dalam menjelaskan level makroskopik, tetapi sulit dalam menjelaskam level simbolik, submikroskopik, serta mempertautkan ketiga level representasi kimia pada materi kesetimbangan kmia. Temuan ini didukung oleh tipe model mental ynag ditemukan pada beberapa frasa kunci dalam materi kesetimbangan kimia. Pada frasa kunci keadaan kesetimbangan yang dapat dicapai dari sisi mana saja baik dari sisi pereaksi, produk dan campuran pereaksi dan produk, ditemukan empat tipe model mental yaitu tipe model mental pemahaman utuh (PU), tipe model mental paham sebagian dan memiliki miskonsepsi yang spesifik (PS/MS), tipe model mental miskonsepsi spesifik (MS) dan tipe model mental tidak paham (TP). Pada frasa kunci menghitung konsentrasi kesetimbangan gas-gas dalam silinder C ditemukan dua tipe model mental, yaitu tipe model mental paham sebagian dan memiliki miskonsepsi yang spesifik (PS/MS) dan tipe model mental tidak paham (TP). Pada frasa kunci kedinamisan dari kesetimbangan kimia ditemukan tiga tipe model mental, yaitu tipe model mental pemahaman utuh (PU), tipe model mental pamah sebagian (PS), dan tipe model mental tidak paham (TP). ..... This study aims to get a picture of students' mental models in chemical equilibrium material. The method used is descriptive method with research instruments in the form of diagonistic tests of mental models - validated Interview About Event (TDM-LAE). The study was conducted on six students of class XII Science in one of the public high schools in the city of Bandung. In this study it was found that students of high, medium, and low ability were easy to explain the macroscopic level, but it was difficult to explain the symbolic, submicroscopic level and link the three levels of representation. chemistry on the equilibrium material. This finding is supported by the type of mental model found in several key phrases in chemical equilibrium material. In key phrases the state of equilibrium that can be achieved from any side, it is found the type of Sound understanding mental model (PU), the type of Partial Understanding with a Specific Misconceptio mental model (PS/MS), the type of Specific Misconception mental model (MS), and No Understanding mental model (TP). In the key phrase, calculate the equilibrium concentration of gases in cylinder C, found the type of mental model Partial Understanding with a Specific Misconception mental model (PS/MS), type of No Understanding mental model (TP). In dynamic key phrases of chemical equilibrium, found the type of Sound understanding mental model (PU), the type of Partial understanding mental model (PS), and the type of No Understanding mental model (TP).
