Abstract

Laporan penelitian ini membahas perbedaan tingkat keterikatan pekerja (employee engagement) berdasarkan masa kerja pada guru tetap di SMK Negeri 3 Bandung. Variabel keterikatan pekerja diukur oleh tiga dimensi yang mencakup 10 indikator yaitu dimensi vigor (yang terdiri dari indikator energi yang tinggi, kemampuan untuk berusaha sekuat tenaga ketika bekerja, dan mampu bertahan ketika menghadapi kesulitan), dimensi dedication (dengan indikator keterlibatan pada suatu pekerjaan, bangga atas pekerjaan yang dilakukan, merasa pekerjaan penting dan berarti, dan merasa tertantang dengan hal-hal yang ada dalam pekerjaan), dan dimensi absorption (yang terdiri dari indikator senang berkutat dengan pekerjaan, berkonsentrasi saat bekerja, dan sulit melepaskan diri dari pekerjaan). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah eksplanatori survei. Data dikumpulkan dengan cara menyebar kuesioner kepada 76 guru tetap di SMK Negeri 3 Bandung. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif berupa frekuensi dan skor rata-rata serta analisis inferensial berupa uji kruskal wallis dan mann whitney u test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan tingkat engagement pada guru tetap berdasarkan kelompok masa kerja guru. Guru yang memiliki masa kerja >30 tahun memiliki tingkat engagement yang paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok masa kerja guru lainnya (21-30 tahun, 11-20 tahun, dan 0-10 tahun). Penelitian ini menyarankan sekolah untuk meningkatkan motivasi guru dan memberikan pengakuan lebih terhadap hasil kerja guru agar guru dapat lebih bersemangat dalam bekerja dan mengajar. This research discusses about the differences of employee engagement level based on period of permanent teachers at SMK Negeri 3 Bandung. Employee engagement variable was measured by three dimensions which include 10 indicators, first dimension is vigor (consisting of high energy indicators, ability to try hard when working, and able to survive when facing difficulties), dedication dimension (with indicators of involvement in a job, being proud of the job, feel the job is important and meaningful, and feel challenged by the things that exist on job), and absorption dimension (which consists of indicators like happily enggrossed in one’s work, fully concentrate while working, and has difficulties with detaching oneself from work). The method in this research is survey explanatory. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 76 permanent teachers at SMK Negeri 3 Bandung. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis in the form of frequency and average scores and inferential statistical analysis in the form of kruskal wallis test and mann whitney u test. The results showed, there were differences of engagement level from permanent teachers based on the teachers’ period group. Teachers who have >30 years of service period have the highest level of engagement than other groups of teachers' period (21-30 years, 11-20 years, and 0-10 years group). This research suggests that schools need to increase teacher’s motivation and teacher’s acknowledgement, so that teachers can teach, perform better and engaged.
