Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas project based learning dalam meningkatkan sikap peduli terhadap lingkungan dan berpikir kreatif siswa pada konteks penanganan limbah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Implementasi pembelajaran dilakukan pada siswa kelas X di salah satu SMK Negeri di Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol masing-masing selama empat kali pertemuan. Siswa diberikan soal pretest dan posttest pada kedua subjek penelitian. Soal pretest dan posttest yang diberikan berupa tes yang mencakup aspek-aspek berpikir kreatif yakni fluency, flexibility, elaboration, originality, dan evaluation. Selain itu, siswa juga diberikan angket respon siswa terkait sikap peduli siswa dengan instrumen Dunlap, dkk. (2000). Pemberian angket bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana sikap peduli siswa terhadap lingkungan. Angket terdiri dari 30 pernyataan, 15 pernyataan positif dan 15 pernyataan negatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan sikap peduli terhadap lingkungan sekolah dengan nilai N-gain 0,63 (sedang, cukup efektif). Sementara itu pada proses kemampuan berpikir kreatif menununjukkan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,61 (sedang, cukup efektif). Selain itu, project based learning terbukti efektif meningkatkan sikap peduli terhadap lingkungan dan berpikir kreatif siswa pada penelitian ini. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of project based learning to enhance awareness towards environment and creative thinking of students in the context of waste management. The research used a quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. The implementation of learning is done on class X students in one of the State Vocational Schools in Bogor Regency. The research used two classes namely the experimental class and the control class for four meetings. Students were given the pretest and posttest questions on the two research subjects. The pretest and posttest question given are tests covering aspects of creative thinking, namely fluency, flexibility, elaboration, originality, and evaluation. Other than that, students are also given student response questionnaires related to students' awareness with Dunlap et al., (2000) instruments. The questionnaires contain 30 statements, 15 positive statements and 15 negative statements. The questionnaire aims to analyze how student’s awareness about the environment. The results showed an increase in the assessment of the school environment with a N-gain of 0.63 (medium category, effective enough). Meanwhile the process of creative thinking ability shows a N-gain of 0.61 (medium category, effective enough). In addition, project based learning is proven to be effective in increasing awareness towards the environment and creative thinking of students in the research.
