Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir sistem dan kreativitas merupakan keterampilan abad ke -21 yang sebaiknya dimiliki oleh mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode research and development bertujuan untuk menghasilkan program pembekalan KBS dan BIOCRE menggunakan pendekatan STREAM. Konten Biologi Terapan terdiri dari kompos, nata de soya, dan biopestisida. Mahasiswa berjumlah 35 orang yang berada di semester V Pendidikan Biologi sebagai subjek penelitian. Produk program terdiri dari modifikasi pada silabus Mikrobiologi, modifikasi matriks perkuliahan Mikrobiologi, task LKM, asesmen tes dan non-test, dan skema pendekatan STREAM. Implementasi dilakukan pada perkuliahan Mikrobiologi pokok bahasan Mikrobiologi Terapan. Strategi pembelajaran menggunakan model siklus belajar 3Es, kooperatif tipe Jigsaw, kombinasi metode belajar, dilatih scientific process dan desain engineering. Karakteristik KBS yang diukur terdiri dari teori general (umum) sistem dan cybernetics. Pengukuran kreativitas menggunakan indikator fluency, originality, flexibility, dan elaboration. Mahasiswa diukur kemampuan penguasaan materi dan praktikum Mikrobiologi Dasar dengan teknis entry level test. Efektifitas program diukur menggunakan tes KBS, peta konsep, kinerja skills (pengadukan bahan-bahan dan technology), kinerja produk (produk praktikum, kemasan, laporan praktikum), berpikir logis, aktivitas mahasiswa pada tahap-tahap siklus 3ES, kooperatif tipe Jigsaw, dan aspek religion. Kendala mahasiswa dengan teknis wawancara kepada perwakilan mahasiswa dan dua rekan sejawat. Hasil penelitian pada entry level test menunjukkan 94,29% dapat menjawab 60% dari skor maksimal. Hasil KBS menujukkan (n-gain) sebesar 74,29 % berkriteria sedang. Hasil peta konsep menunjukkan pola kenaikan skor pada setiap konten Biologi Terapan. Hasil BIOCRE berada pada level emerging dan expressing. Hasil kinerja skills pengadukan bahan-bahan memiliki kriteria yang fluktuatif. Hasil kinerja skills technology memiliki pola kenaikan kriteria baik. Hasil kinerja produk mengalami pola kenaikan kriteria sangat baik. Hasil kinerja produk kemasan memiliki kriteria yang fluktuatif. Kenaikan berpikir logis sebesar 17,14% pada kategori operasi formal. Hasil aspek religion berupa (n-gain) sebesar 82,86% berkriteria sedang Aktivitas mahasiswa mengalami pola peningkatan pada kriteria cukup. Uji statistik menunjukkan tidak terdapat korelasi antara peningkatan KBS, peningkatan aspek religion, dan berpikir logis. Kendala mahasiswa pada perancangan praktikum, pengelolaan waktu, manajemen tim, dan pembuatan peta konsep. Implikasi penelitian mampu membekali mahasiswa KBS-BIOCRE, memperkuat scientific process, melatih desain engineering, membiasakan asesmen kinerja skills-produk, dan meningkatkan aspek religion. This study uses Research and Development method to develop an STS and BIOCRE coaching program using the STREAM approach. The contents of applied biology in this study consist of compost, nata de soya, and biopesticides. The research subjects are 35 students in the fifth semester of Biology Education Study Program. The products of the program consist of modifications to the Microbiology syllabus, modifications to the Microbiology lecture matrices, student worksheets' tasks, test and non-test assessments, and STREAM approach schema. The implementation is carried out in Microbiology lectures on the subject of Applied Microbiology. The learning strategies used are the 3Es learning cycle model, Jigsaw-type cooperation, a combination of learning methods, coaching of scientific process, and design engineering. The characteristics of STS measured consist of general systems theory and cybernetics theory. The creativity is measured using indicators of fluency, originality, flexibility, and elaboration. The ability of concept mastery and Basic Microbiology practicum of students are measured by an entry-level test technique. The effectiveness of the program is measured using STS tests, concept maps, skills performance (mixing materials and technology), product performance (practicum products, packaging, practicum reports), logical thinking, students’ activities at the stages of the 3ES cycle, Jigsaw-type cooperation, and aspects of religion. Challenges faced by students were gathered through interviews with student representatives and two colleagues. The results of the study at the entry-level test showed that 94.29% of research subjects could answer 60% of the maximum score. STS results show an n-gain of 74.29% with moderate criteria. The results of the concept maps show the upward pattern of scores on each of the Applied Biology content. BIOCRE's results are at the "emerging" and "expressing" levels. The results of the skill of mixing have fluctuating criteria. The results of skills technology performance have an upward pattern of "very good" criteria. The results of the product performance experienced an upward pattern of "excellent" criteria. The performance results of packaging products have fluctuating criteria. There is an increase in logical thinking by 17.14% in the category of formal operations. The results of the aspect of religion in the form of n-gain of 82.86% on the moderate criteria, while student activities experienced an increase in the "good" criteria. Statistical tests showed no correlation between the increase in STS, the increase in aspects of religion, and logical thinking. Students have difficulties in practicum design, time management, team management, and concept map making. The research implications can equip students with STS-BIOCRE, strengthen their scientific processes, practice their engineering design, familiarize skills-product performance assessments, and improve their aspects of religion.
