Abstract

Tingkat motivasi dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dapat menurun dan meningkat dari waktu ke waktu. Departemen Pendidikan Teknik Arsitektur (DPTA) FPTK UPI memiliki mahasiswa yang berasal dari beragam daerah di Indonesia, yang mempengaruhi jenis tempat tinggal yang dipilih oleh mahasiswa, sehingga ada mahasiswa yang tinggal indekos dan ada yang tinggal di rumah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa DPTA FPTK UPI yang berada di tingkat ke-4 (Angkatan 2015) yang memenuhi ketentuan sebagai responden. Teknik pengumpulan data dan instrumen adalah kuesioner tentang motivasi belajar dan wawancara mengenai jenis tempat tinggal, jarak tempat tinggal, dan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan terdapat hasil sebagai berikut: (1) Tingkat motivasi belajar mahasiswa yang tinggal di kos lebih kecil dari mahasiswa yang tinggal di rumah (79,5203 < 82,9292), akan tetapi berdasarkan tes-t yang dilakukan dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05, perbedaannya tidak signifikan thitung < ttabel (-1,294 < 1,998), (2) Tingkat prestasi belajar mahasiswa yang tinggal di kos lebih besar dari mahasiswa yang tinggal di rumah (3,3964 < 3,3767), akan tetapi berdasarkan tes-t yang dilakukan dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05, perbedaannya tidak signifikan thitung < ttabel (0,354 < 1,998). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan tidak ada perbedaan motivasi dan prestasi belajar antara mahasiswa DPTA yang tinggal di kos dan tinggal di rumah. ;--Student’ motivation and learning achievement level may increase and decrease from time to time. Departement of Pendidikan Teknik Arsitektur (DPTA) FPTK UPI has a diversed students from all over Indonesia, hence influenced their choosing on a place to live, so there’s students that lives indekos and there’s also students that lives at home. This research was a descriptive research with quantitative approach. The respondents of this research was DPTA FPTK UPI students on fourth year (class of 2015) that meets certain criterias. Data collecting technique and instrument used on this research were, a questionnaire on their learning motivation level, an interview about their place of living, the distance, and their Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK). Based on the conducted research the results are: (1) student’s learning motivation level are lower on student’ that lives indekos than that lives at home (79,5203 < 82,9292), although from the t-test that was done with 0,05 significancy, the difference wasn’t significant thitung < ttabel (-1,294 < 1,998), (2) student’s learning achievement level are higher on student’ that lives indekos than that lives at home (3,3964 < 3,3767), although from the t-test that was done with 0,05 significancy, the difference wasn’t significant thitung < ttabel (0,354 < 1,998). It’s concluded that there’s no difference on motivation and learning achievement level on DPTA students that lives indekos and that lives at home.
