Abstract

Fenomena Full day school (FDS) mulai berkembang pada Taman Kanak-kanak di kota Cirebon, berkembangnya FDS bukan hanya karena adanya perencanaan program pemerintah diwajibkannya FDS pada setiap jenjang pendidikan namun juga karena kebutuhan bagi orangtua yang bekerja dan tidak mendapatkan pengasuh bagi anaknya. Terdapat perbedaan antara FDS dan half day yaitu jam pelajaran yang berbeda, half day memiliki jam pelajaran dari pagi hingga siang sedangkan FDS memiliki jam pelajaran dari pagi hingga siang yang kemudian dilanjutkan kembali hingga sore. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang kegiatan FDS yang ada di Taman Kanak-kanak kota Cirebon. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tiga Taman Kanak-kanak di Kota Cirebon dengan narasumber tiga guru dan tiga orangtua siswa. Alat yang digunakan untuk memperoleh data pada penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan observasi. Adapun analisis data yang digunakan yaitu grounded theory. Berdasarkan penelitian, diperoleh hasil bahwa terdapat tiga tipikal full day school yang ada di Taman Kanak-kanak kota Cirebon yaitu tipikal keagamaan, karakter, dan akademik. Selain itu adapula hasil lain yang diperoleh yaitu tentang peran full day school sebagai pengasuh pengganti orangtua dan kesejahteraan guru-guru yang mengajar di Taman Kanak-kanak Kota Cirebon yang menyelenggarakan FDS.Rekomendasi dari hasil penelitian ini yang pertama tentu bagi para pemegang kebijakan pendidikan perlu memperhatikan kesiapan sekolah, baik dari segi program, kebijakan serta kesiapan guru dalam melaksanakan FDS, peran serta dari orangtuadalam pendidikan dan untuk peneliti selanjutnya untuk dapat mengembangkan penelitian lebih baik lagi.;-- The phenomenon of full day school(FDS) began to develop kindergartens in Cirebon city, the development of FDS was not only due to government program planning required by FDS at every level of education but also because of the need for parents who worked and did not get caregivers for their childrens. There is a difference between FDS and half day that is different class hours, half day has class hours from morning to afternoon while FDS has class hours from morning to afternoon which are then resumed until evening. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of FDS activities in kindergarten. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological method. This study was conducted on three kindergartens in the Cirebon city with three resource persons and three parents. The tools used to obtain data in this study were interviews and observations. The data analysis used is grounded theory. Based on the research, the results show that there are three typicalsFDS in the kondergarten of Cirebon city, which are religious, character, and academic. In addition there are other results obtained, namely about the role of FDS as a caregiver for parental substitution and the welfare of teachers who teach in the kindergarten that organizes FDS. Recommendation from this study are for education policy holders to pay attention to school readiness, both in terms of programs, policies and readiness of teachers in implementing FDS, participation from parents in education and for further researchers to be able to develop research better.
