Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan adanya permasalahan pada anak Down Syndrome dalam melakukan pelatihan pramusaji khususnya dalam menerima dan mengantarkan pesanan. Anak tersebut kesulitan dalam mencatat pesanan sehingga sering terjadi kesalahan. Subyek penelitian adalah dua anak Down Syndrome usia di atas 17 tahun yang bersekolah di Lembaga Pendidikan X di Kota Bandung dan guru vokasional yang mengajar keterampilan pramusaji di lembaga tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan program pelatihan dengan teknik struktur visual dan modeling melalui metode Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pramusaji pada anak Down Syndrome. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dalam perumusan program pelatihan menggunakan Teknik Delphi dengan melakukan expert judgment, dimana peneliti meminta validasi dari para ahli yang bergerak di bidang anak berkebutuhan khusus dan pramusaji. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, studi dokumentasi, dan asesmen. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, display data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan modifikasi terhadap media visual yang digunakan seperti pada buku menu dan kertas pesanan. Buku menu dan kertas pesanan dibuat lebih banyak menggunakan gambar. Selain itu, metode yang digunakan adalah metode DTT, dimana kegiatan dipecah menjadi bagian-bagian yang sederhana. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh peningkatan terhadap keterampilan pramusaji anak Down Syndrome.;This research is motivated by the problems in children with Down Syndrome in conducting waiter training, especially in receiving and delivering orders. These children have difficulty in recording orders so mistakes often occur. The subjects of the study were two Down Syndrome children over the age of 17 who studied in The Education Institution X in Bandung and a vocational teacher who taught waiter skills at that institution. The purpose of this research is to develop a training program with visual structure and modeling techniques through the Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) method in improving waiter skills in children with Down Syndrome. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a qualitative approach. In the formulation of a training program using the Delphi Technique by conducting expert judgment, where researchers ask for validation from experts engaged in the field of children with special needs and waiters. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, documentation study, and assessment. Data analysis techniques using data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. In this study modifications were made to the visual media used such as on menu books and paper orders. Menu books and paper orders are made using more images. In addition, the method used is the DTT method, where activities are broken down into simple parts. From this study, an increase in Down Syndrome children's waiter skills was obtained.
