Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya siswa memiliki sikap academic hardiness. Siswa di era globalisasi menghadapi tuntutan kehidupan akademik. Kemampuan untuk tetap kuat dalam menanggapi tantangan akademik disebut ketangguhan akademik. Penting bagi guru untuk memahami cara adaptif untuk meningkatkan academic hardiness pada siswanya. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektivitas bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik group exercise untuk meningkatkan academic hardiness siswa pada kelas VII di SMP Negeri 12 Bandung pada Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Adapun pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi-eksperimen dan desain non-equivalen pretest-posttest control group design. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan tingkat academic hardiness siswa dari hasil pre-test dan post-test pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok eksperimen, dengan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 42,1266 atau perentase 42% yang termasuk dalam kategori kurang efektif. Kata Kunci: Bimbingan Kelompok, Group Exercise, Academic Hardiness. ------- This research is motivated by the importance of students having an attitude of academic hardiness. Students in the globalization era face the demands of academic life. The ability to stay strong in responding to academic challenges is called academic toughness. It is important for teachers to understand adaptive ways to increase academic hardiness in their students. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of group guidance with group exercise techniques to improve academic hardiness of students in class VII at SMP Negeri 12 Bandung in 2018/2019 Academic Year. The research approach uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the level of academic hardiness of students from the pre-test and post-test results in the control group and the experimental group, with an average N-Gain value of 42.1266 or a percentage of 42% which is included in the less effective category.
