Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh observasi awal mengenai kurangnya pemahaman siswa mengenai materi pembelajaran estimasi biaya konstruksi karena kurangnya pemahaman materi secara langsung ke lapangan. Melihat permasalahan ini, maka perlu diadakannya inovasi dalam metode pembelajaran untuk memicu peserta didik agar lebih aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satu metode untuk memberikan materi ajar dengan pengalaman secara langsung adalah metode pembelajaran school-based experiential outdoor education. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan metode pembelajaran school-based experiential outdoor education terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan jenis one group pretest-post test design (melibatkan satu kelompok diberi perlakuan). Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah nonprobability sampling dengan jenis purposive sampling. Lembar observasi digunakan untuk mengamati penerapan metode pembelajaran school-based experiential outdoor education dan tes dilakukan untuk mengukur pemahaman siswa. Peningkatan pemahaman siswa diukur menggunakan uji n-gain kemudian data diolah menggunakan uji normalitas liliefors dan uji hipotesis Wilcoxon. Hasil analisis statistika deskriptif menunjukkan: (1) rata-rata keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran school-based experiential outdoor education terlaksana dengan sangat baik, (2) rata-rata hasil belajar siswa (pretest) berada pada kategori rendah dan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa (post test) berada pada kategori sedang, (4) rata-rata n-gain sebesar berada pada kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode pembelajaran school-based experiential outdoor education dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada mata pelajaran estimasi biaya konstruksi di SMKN 1 Cilaku-Cianjur. -------- This research is motivated by initial observations regarding the lack of students' understanding of the learning materials estimated construction costs due to lack of understanding of the material directly to the field. Seeing this problem, it is necessary to hold innovation in learning methods to trigger students to be more active in the learning process. One method for providing teaching material with direct experience is the school-based experiential outdoor education method. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of school-based experiential outdoor education learning methods to improving student understanding. The research design used was pre-experimental design with the type of one group pretest-post test design (involving one group treated). The sampling technique used is nonprobability sampling with the type of purposive sampling. Observation sheets are used to observe the application of school-based experiential outdoor education learning methods and tests are conducted to measure student understanding. Improved student understanding is measured using the n-gain test then data is processed using the liliefors normality test and the Wilcoxon hypothesis test. The results of descriptive statistical analysis show: (1) the average of learning outcomes using the school-based experiential outdoor education method is very well implemented, (2) the average student learning outcomes (pretest) are in the low category and the average results student learning (post test) is in the medium category, (4) the average n-gain is in the medium category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of school-based experiential outdoor education learning methods can improve students' understanding of the subject of estimated construction costs at SMKN 1 Cilaku-Cianjur.
