    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk menganalisis gambaran kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP Negeri di kota Bandung pada topik sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Selain itu juga untuk mengkaji kesalahan-kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal literasi matematis pada topik sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Kemampuan literasi matematis siswa ditinjau berdasarkan indikator merumuskan (formulate), menggunakan (employ) dan menafsirkan (interpret). Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode deskriptif dengan desain survey cross-sectional. Responden dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 89 siswa yang berasal dari tiga SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung yang berada di Rayon A. Soal yang diteskan adalah soal berbentuk uraian sebanyak 6 buah yang memuat indikator merumuskan (formulate), menggunakan (employ) dan menafsirkan (interpret). Berdasarkan hasil temuan diperoleh bahwa: (1) kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP di Kota Bandung pada topik sistem persamaan linear dua variabel tergolong kategori cukup; (2) Jika ditinjau berdasarkan indikator literasi matematis, kemampuan siswa unggul pada indikator menggunakan (employ); dan kurang pada indikator menafsirkan (interpret). (3) Berdasarkan kategori kesalahan Newman, kategori kesalahan yang banyak dilakukan siswa adalah kesalahan pemahaman (comprehension).

    This study aims to analyze the description of mathematical literacy ability of state junior high school students in Bandung City on the topic of two-variable linear equation systems. In addition, it also examines the mistakes made by students in working on mathematical literacy problems on the topic of two-variable linear equation systems. Mathematical literacy abilities of students are reviewed based on indicators formulate, employ and interpret. This research used a descriptive method with a cross-sectional survey design. Respondents in this study consisted of 89 students who came from three state junior high schools in Bandung City who were in Rayon A. The tested problem is about 6 items in the form of indicators formulating, employing and interpreting. Based on the findings, it was found that: (1) mathematical literacy ability of junior high school students in Bandung on the topic of two variables linear equation system is classified as sufficient category; (2) If reviewed based on mathematical literacy indicators, students' ability excels at using indicators and less on interpreting indicators. (3) Based on the Newman error category, the error category that many students make is comprehension error.
