Abstract

Upacara adat Bakawua merupakansuatu aktivitas budaya masyarakat Minangkabau untuk mengungkapkan rasa syukur atas kesejahteraan dan rezeki panen pertanian masyarakat Minangkabau.Upacara adat Bakawua merupakan bagian dari kajian tradisi lisanyang meliputi unsur-unsur verbal, setengah verbal dan non-verbal.Penelitian ini berfokus pada unsur verbal yang terdapat pada teks ungkapan pidato upacara adat Bakawua. Tujuanpenelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan (1) struktur teks ungkapan pidato adat; (2) konteks penuturan; (3) proses penciptaan dan perwarisan; (4) fungsi dan nilai, serta; (5) pemanfaatannya sebagai buku pengayaan pengetahuan apresiasi sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan etnografi.Hasil temuan dan pembahasan menunjukan bahwa teks ungkapan pidato adat terdiri dari tekspasambahan, pernyataan sambah dan isi pidato.Teks pidato adat ini memiliki bentuk naratif dan non-naratif. Struktur naratif mengungkap alur, tokoh, latar dan tema tentang mite asal usul nenek moyang Minangkabau.Struktur non-naratif menunjukan bahwa teks initerdiri dari aspek sintaksis (fungsi, kategori dan peran), aspek bunyi (irama, asonansi dan aliterasi, serta rima), dan aspek gaya bahasa (diksi dan majas). Konteks situasi dan konteks budaya pada ungkapan pidato upacara adatBakawua berperan untuk mengenang jasa-jasa nenek moyang serta amanah yang diwariskan kepada masyarakat. Proses penciptaan teks ini bersifat terstruktur dengan mengandalkan memori ingatan manusia sebagaiupaya untuk melakukan proses perwarisan secara vertikal ataupun secara harizontal. Fungsi dan nilai teks pidato adat menggambarkan suatu proyeksi hukum dan norma adat istiadat suku Minangkabau.Pemanfaatan dalam bentuk buku pengayaan pengetahuan apresiasi sastra diharapkan dapat menambah khasanah pengetahuan tentang kesusastraan Minangkabau. Bakawua traditional ceremony is a cultural activity of the Minangkabau people to express gratitude for the welfare and sustenance of the Minangkabau agricultural harvest. Bakawua traditional ceremonies are part of a review of oral traditions that contain verbal, half-verbal and nonverbal elements. This research focuses on the verbal elements contained in the text of the traditional ceremonial speech of Bakawua. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the structure of the text of traditional speech expressions; (2) the context of the narrative; (3) the process of creation and inheritance; (4) function and value, and; (5) its use as a book enriching the knowledge of literary appreciation in high school. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with ethnographic approach. The findings and discussion show that the text of the customary speech expression consists of Pasambahan text, statement of Pasambahan and the content of the speech. This traditional speech text has a narrative and non-narrative form.The narrative structure reveals the plot, character, setting and theme of the myth of the Minangkabau ancestors. Non-narrative structure shows that this text consists of syntactic aspects (functions, categories and roles), sound aspects (rhythm, assonance and alliteration, as well as rhyme), and aspects of language style (diction and figure of speech).Situation context and the cultural context of the Bakawua traditional ceremonial speech acts to commemorate the services of the ancestors and the mandate passed on to the community. The process of creating this text is structured by relying on human memory as an attempt to carry out the process of inheritance vertically or horizontally.The function and values of the text illustrates a legal projection and norms of Minangkabau customs. Utilization in the form of a book enriching the knowledge of literary appreciation is expected to increase the treasury of knowledge about Minangkabau literature.
