Abstract

ABSTRAK “Peningkatan Kemampuan Kompetensi Strategis Siswa SMP melalui Pembelajaran dengan Menggunakan Strategi Pemecahan Masalah Solso” Rina Selviana (1507513). Pendidikan Matematika. Fakultas Pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam. Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai peningkatan kemampuan kompetensi strategis siswa SMP dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui pembelajaran dengan menggunakan strategi pemecahan masalah Solso. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian kuasi eksperiman (quasi eksperimental design). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 15 Bandung. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak dua kelas, dengan kelas eksperimen 1 berjumlah 28 siswa dan kelas eksperimen 2 berjumlah 28 siswa. Cara pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini dengan menggunakan teknik sampling purposive. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini, yaitu: 1. Peningkatan kemampuan kompetensi strategis siswa SMP yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi pemecahan masalah Solso lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan Discovery Learning. Sehingga strategi pemecahan masalah Solso layak diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kompetensi strategis siswa SMP; 2. Sebagian besar siswa di kelas eksperimen 1 memberikan respons yang cukup positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan strategi pemecahan masalah Solso sehingga strategi pemecahan masalah Solso layak diterapkan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. The aims of this study is to obtain a picture of increasing the ability of junior high school students' strategic competence in learning mathematics through learning using Solso problem solving strategy. The research method used in this study is an experimental method with a quasi-experimental research design. The population in this study were eighth grade students of SMPN 15 Bandung. The sample are used in this study based on two classes, with 28 students from class of experimental 1 and 28 students from class of experimental 2. The method of taking samples in this study was using purposive sampling technique. The conclusions of this study are: 1. Increasing the ability of strategic competence of junior high school students who obtain learning with Solso problem solving strategy is significantly higher than students who obtain learning with Discovery Learning. So the Solso problem solving strategy is feasible to be applied to improve the ability of the strategic competencies of middle school students; 2. Most of the students in the experimental class responded fairly and positively to mathematics learning by using the Solso problem solving strategy, so that the Solso problem solving strategy was feasible to be applied to improve student learning outcomes.
