Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis pada siswa SMP antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan Model Kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) dengan Pendekatan Saintifik dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan Model Kooperatif dengan Pendekatan Saintifik serta mengetahui bagaimana respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan Model Kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) dengan Pendekatan Saintifik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Non-equivalen Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VII semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2019/2020 di salah satu SMP Negeri di kota Bandung. Teknik pengambilan sampel berupa purposive sampling dengan sampel yang terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu kelas VII-E sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 32 siswa dan VII-G sebagai kelas eksperimen sebanyak 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah hasil pre-test, post-test, angket dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis menggunakan Model Kooperatif tipe TPS dengan Pendekatan Saintifik lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan Model Kooperatif dengan Pendekatan Saintifik. Selain itu, respons yang diberikan siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan Model Kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) dengan Pendekatan Saintifik tergolong positif. Kata Kunci : Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis, Model Kooperatif Tipe Think Pair Share (TPS), Pendekatan Saintifik ----- This research aims to determine the improvement of mathematical connections in junior high school students between students who get learning using the Cooperative Model Think Pair Share (TPS) type with the Scientific Approach compared to students who get learning using the Cooperative Model with the Scientific Approach and to find out how students responses to learning using the Cooperative Model Think Pair Share (TPS) type with Scientific Approach. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a Non-equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The population in this research is students of class VII odd semester 2019/2020 in one of the state junior high schools in the city of Bandung. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a sample consisting of 2 classes, namely class VII-E as a control class as many as 32 students and VII-G as an experimental class as many as 30 students. Data collection techniques are the results of pre-test, post-test, questionnaire and observation. The results showed that increasing the ability of mathematical connections using the TPS type Cooperative Model with the Scientific Approach was significantly higher than students who get learning using the Cooperative Model with the Scientific Approach. In addition, the response given by students to learning with the Think Pair Share (TPS) type Cooperative Model with the Scientific Approach were positive.
