Abstract

Modalitas no da merupakan salah satu modalitas yang sering digunakan ketika berkomunikasi. Modalitas no da tidak hanya dapat dikaji berdasarkan linguistik formal, tetapi dapat dikaji berdasarkan linguistik fungsional. Salah satunya mengkaji mengenai tema dan rema. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui struktur tema dan rema pada kalimat yang menggunakan no da, serta penggunaan no da berdasarkan fungsi dan maknanya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode ini digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan. menganalisis, dan menginterpretasi struktur kalimat, tema dan rema, serta fungsi dan makna no da yang diuraikan secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis yang diperoleh yaitu struktur tema dan rema terdiri dari (1) proses, (2) partisipan, dan (3) circumstance. Penggunaan no da memiliki fungsi (1) scope dan (2) mood. Makna no da yang terdapat pada data yaitu makna (1) memahami kejadian berdasarkan pemahaman sendiri, (2) mengingat kembali, (3) memahami yang diucapkan sebelumnya, (4) memastikan, (5) memahami, (6) pengakuan, (7) informasi, (8) perintah, (9) larangan, (10) mengingatkan kembali, (11) mengulang kembali, dan (12) keinginan kuat penutur. Kata kunci: linguistik sistemik fungsional, tema dan rema, modalitas no da. No da modality is one of the modalities that are often be used when communicating. No da modality can only be studied based on formal lingustic, but can be studied based on functional linguistic. One of them studying about theme and rheme. The purpose of this study is to know the structure theme and rheme in sentences using no da modality, as well as the use of no da modality based on its function and meaning. The method used in this research is descriptive method with qualitative approach. This method used to describe, analyze, and interpret sentences structure, theme and rheme, and no da modality function and meaning that described descriptively. Obtained analysis results are (1) processes, (2) participants, and (3) circumstances. The use of no da modality has (1) scope function and (2) mood function. The meaning of no da contained in the data is meaning (1) understanding events based on your own understanding, (2) recall, (3) understanding what was said before, (4) ensure events, (5) comprehend, (6) acknowledge, (7) informations, (8) imperative, (9) prohibition, (10) remind, (11) repeat, and (12) strong desire of speaker.
